Nautilus Restaurant — Restaurant in Lefkada Municipality

We came in after checking reviews which was promising, 4.5/5 stars. Now, how many of these reviews are genuine I will not speculate, but be warned, some of the food is average at best. We ordered pizza with ham and mushrooms, mixed souvlaki from the grill, tzatziki, and seafood from the oven for my partner. Pizza had cheap "Lidl kind" slices of ham on it but was edible, 4/10. Mixed souvlaki was ok, nothing special but let's be generous - 6/10. But then we saw what was supposed to be seafood from the oven dish for €20, with shrimp, cuttlefish, octopus, mussels, etc.. What was served looked like a lasagna in square oven dish. My partner used fork to see what is under the layer of cheese ( cheese on seafood begs a separate questioning of a culinary craft..) and it was basically several pieces of squid or cuttlefish and carrots in tomato sauce.. We did not find a single mussel or shrimp, and when we complained, the owner came and said it is all mixed in, and 99% of customers are happy. When I said there is not a single shrimp in the dish, he repeated his 99% of people argument and said he will take it back. So generous 1/10 - if this was appetizer for €6, we would probably just laugh, but as a €20 main it was just appalling. We went here last Monday while we were on our vacation in Nydri Lefkada. I’ve read a couple of reviews about this restaurant and was curious about the restaurant, and mainly the people who work here. There’s the owner, his son and daughter, and the owners father who all work here. In one word: it was A-MA-ZING! Without a single doubt: the atmosphere was great, the service was great, and the food.. oh my.. the food is to die for! We had as a starter the vegetables with cheese and my husband had the big beans with tomato sauce. There was so much flavour in these dishes, we haven’t had that before on this island. After that my husband had the stifado what was very tender en soft and with so much flavour! I had the hamburger with fries, such a massive burger you couldn’t even put your mouth around it haha! We visited this place because of the good reviews, that praise the quality of the food in general, but seafood in particular. We were really looking forward to a good plate of fresh seafood.

As such, we ordered the seafood platter for 2. For Greek standards, this plate is already quite expensive, which upped our expectations even further. Unfortunately, we were quite disappointed. The scallop, mussels and octopus were not fresh. This would not have been too much of a problem, if they would have been prepared well. Sadly, all of the shellfish had been overdone. When we pointed this out to the waiters, they wouldn't agree and would simply not accept that the fish was overcooked.

No compensation was offered at all and the waiters to whom we had voiced our complaints ignored us for the rest of the night.
