We just stumbled across this beautiful vistad resturant and saw the reviews so thought it would a shame to miss any opportunity like this.
I wish we did. Other than the Instagram worthy shots it'd be easier to hire a chair. Take your pics and then have a sandwich.
Ill be fair to the servers. They are fun and friendly. But we ordered two lemonades then they arrived with 1 orange juice and a lemonade which is hard to do when you write your own order for them.
The food all came at once. Starter, main, desserts all in one go. Which made ot a delight to have to fight flies over the meals we weren't having.
Now the food.
The stuffed mushrooms were really well done. The panchetta was incredible the flavours busting.
The loaded potatos were fine. Potato, cheese and bacon what's not to like.
The mains is where it fell flat.
The prawn Sagananki. The prawns were cooked ok, the rich tomato it usually comes in was mainly oil with raw onion thrown in.
The Lamb Chops which are a Cretian staple. Were bland and some were even raw probably a flaw of serving everything so fast.
The cheese pie was interesting. The pastry and cheese was again bland and the copious amount of honey did some very heavy lifting.
The fruit plate was....Well a fruit plate. Of the bites we had Delicious. But the flies had already quarantined our plate as we went through our meal.
Come for the View. Stay for...
Read moreIf you like conveyer belt food then this is the place for you. We came here because of a 4.9 review and to be honest, we are wondering if we went to the correct place. We were presented with a printed menu and a pen for us to mark up our order. Ok, a bit weird but let’s go with it. The starters arrived at the same time as the main course. Ok, we’ll let that one pass, it’s a 4.9 after all. The pasta and cheese was literally that (like you make for yourself when you’re ill or can’t be bothered), the Gyro, WTF, it’s taken me 53 years to find a kebab that I can’t actually eat. I eat anything, even out of date stuff, but this had so much salt I couldn’t get past the third attempt. The views were lovely as long as you were facing the sea rather than the graffitied iron door to a sports stadium. Here comes the good bit… The host was genuinely concerned at us leaving most of the meal and offered for us to not pay for any of the bits we didn’t like, so we walked away less disgruntled than we could have. I almost considered his apology to warrant me not leaving a negative review but then thought…really? It’s the 4.9 that brought us here so why should we put...
Read moreFound this cute little spot while wandering around the city exploring. It’s hidden away from all the main hustle and bustle of the city with a view of the marina and the calm turquoise water.
We sat off to the side where they have three tables and away from their main dining area. The owner was extremely friendly and nice. The food was just as great! As someone traveling with food allergies it was very nice to be able to easily communicate with someone and not have to worry about issues.
We had the grilled octopus served over a mashed split pea, grilled prawn aka big shrimp, mussels served in a olive oil, lemon sauce with garlic and tomatoes and cucumbers, served with feta on the side ending the lunch with free local liquor and fruit.
One of the things I love is the services and people. They were generally happy to be there and helpful and very friendly to share knowledge and talk. Which makes the whole experience wonderful along...
