Charoupia — Restaurant in Municipality of Agios Nikolaos

Unfortunately, yesterday I made the dreadful mistake of calling for a reservation for me and my two daughters, ages 5 and 13. I was told that a table would be available in 15 minutes, so we rushed. When we got there on time, the waiter said it would take another 15 minutes, so we happily went for a walk, as these things happen in Crete, especially in August when it’s very busy. When we got back very hungry, a rude, bald middle-aged man informed us angrily that a reservation was not really made by the restaurant; "it was only a suggestion, he said in a manner that words cannot describe! I have never in my life witnessed such rudeness; my daughters were shocked! When I made an attempt to answer back, the coward ran away, shouting "I'm busy!". Of course we left! In other countries, people sue for such discriminatory treatment and win. I will never return. This place used to be a decent restaurant a few years ago but not anymore . The rude man’s problem was probably money! A mother with two young children is not considered a big spender! Just...

The best restaurant I’ve been to in Crete ❤️ amazing locally sourced food and passionately crafted dishes. Friendly and very attentive service. You can tell the team knows each other and that they love working together.

Beautiful terrace with a huge tree and fairly lights. Starters or main, you can order anything from the menu and you’ll love it! My favorite was the house salad. Amazing breakfast variety and plant based milk options for your coffee. Great drinks, music events from time to time....

Nice location, but that was the best part of having dinner recently. I know lamb chops can be tough, but the ones we had - while actually quite tasty when you got any meat - were otherwise almost inedible due to fat, gristle, and lots of bone! And because I paid the bill with exactly the right amount of cash, I was rudely accused of ignoring the staff by not tipping. Actually, I often leave a tip on the table afterwards, but not on this...
