The Island Cafe-Snack Bar — Restaurant in Municipality of Agios Nikolaos

My favourite place to eat whilst on holiday in Crete! Low key, down to earth vibe. Just a lovely little gem, beautiful and serene atmosphere, quiet, relaxing. A little away from the tourist hustle and bustle. The owner goes above and beyond, super friendly, great menu - we had smoothies here, burgers, there's also things like a full English breakfast, omelettes, toasties, pasta, savoury crepes, coffee, desserts etc. And all at really decent affordable prices. We commented on the low prices to the owner and he was just so humble and insisted that it was what he thought was reasonable. Cant say enough good things. Also the food was fresh!! You could tell it was good quality. Fantastic little place that deserves...

We stayed at a villa up the mountain from Plaka so we needed a coffee shop for our week there. We happened on the Island Cafe -- so glad we did! We ended up there every morning for really reasonably priced and delicious coffee and breakfast. The owner (I feel bad for forgetting his name) was so kind and welcoming. What makes stays around smaller villages so special is getting to know such shop owners who make you feel like family. I highly recommend Island Cafe for your stay...
