Plakias beach — Attraction in Municipality of Agios Vasileios

At the beach lifeguards who give sun beds for rent were very rude. It seemed to me they were judging by our looks, because we are from Kazakhstan and have Asian phenotype. One of them even asked if I understand English, while I was clearly speaking English to him from the very beginning. So unpleasant and disappointing to feel racism at this time. They kept coming and disturbing us, totally ruined the mood. The issue is that they didnt let us sit on the sun bed 2 people at a time, while other people on the beach were sitting freely without being reprimanded. The funniest thing is there were exactly 5 of us and we were trying to hide from the sun, they had no extra umbrella for us, even though we asked and were willing to pay. A part of our so-called "South Trip". Our tour guide gave us 1:30 of free time to do what we wished. Plakias Beach gave me the impression of finding out part of "my" Croatia. Mass tourisme was not yet here for October holiday. We were free to contemplate the sea. There were plenty of beach coffee shops. We stopped by Lamon for a coffee. Our guide recommanded a greek coffee but we discovered immediately that it was in fact a turkish coffee. Quite nice, long and wide sandy public beach. The sea there is pretty calm if there is no wind, but bear in mind - it is windy area... Gently and gradually sloping bottom of the sea. You may go as far as 30 meters until the sea starts to be about 2m deep. Quite good infrastructure: several beach bars (seasonal), easy access by car, free parking alongside the street, showers and changing cabins. Sets of two sunbeds and umbrella for EUR10/day (2022 year). Nice tamarisks trees separate the beach from the street and provides some shade, but not much.
