Aposperída — Restaurant in Municipality of Apokoronas

This is my favourite restaurant in Georgiopoli - the setting is great under the Mulberry trees and the family who run it are delightful - they are super friendly and funny and provide a service that is attentive and efficient whilst never being overly so. Their food is outstanding - you can view the pans and trays of home made food before you order and it's all explained to you with justifiable pride! Our first visit was after 10 at night after a late arrival and car journey from Herakleion and they could not have been more welcoming - on that occasion I had a chicken fillet with creamy peppercorn sauce and chips - it was so succulent and tasty! Over the course of our 10 day trip, we savoured the lamb in lemon sauce (beautiful), the chicken souvlaki with bacon (huge!), the stuffed burgers ( yummy) and their moussaka who one of our group, a resident nearby described as one of the the best he'd had - and so many more dishes besides! They even give a choice of their homemade garlic gratin potatoes (sublime) and lemon potatoes as alternatives to chips! Where other tavernas seem to have reduced their portion sizes since we were last here, Aposperida certainly has not! Their house red and white wine are lovely and we were given complimentary ice cream or cherries, and choices of raki, honey raki or ouzo to round off our delicious meals! We came here one evening last week and we were very pleasantly impressed. Warm, smiling welcome from the owner and his team. Service with respect, a smile, kindness, and some gentle conversation. The meal was so good. To say it was good is an understatement. Chicken fillet that was succulent and so full of flavor , accompanied by a gratin dauphinoise to die for! It was incredible and full of flavor! A mushroom cream sauce accompanied this dish and it was equally flavorful! The portions are very generous, the service is impressive, everything was perfect !
