Basilakis Cafe - Patisserie — Restaurant in Municipality of Apokoronas

Worst service, Worst experience and biggest rip off in Crete. Got a CAN of coke (1.50 euro) and a CAN of beer (2.00 euro) out of the fridge and joined the queue waiting to pay. After a 20 minute wait it was our turn to be served. The Lady behind the counter asked "is this for take out or to drink in", I said "drink in please" thinking she would pass me some plastic cups. Instead she took the drinks off me and said sit down please I will bring them over. When we sat down a different lady came over and asked if we wanted a menu I said "no thanks we've ordered". After waiting another 30 minutes and asking the waitress twice about our drinks we were just about to leave when the waitress came over and said "no no I will bring the drinks very quickly please just a minute". I asked if she could swap them for fresh ones out of the fridge please because they would be warm having been out of the fridge for nearly an hour in the 34 degree heat. After another 10 minutes and speaking to 2 different people on her way to fetch our drinks, the waitress finally brought us a small BOTTLE of beer and small BOTTLE of coke and put the receipt on the table folded in a little metal cup. The price for our drinks was now 4.00 euro for the beer and 3.30 euro for the coke. So apparently if you have to wait an hour or more to be served your drinks prices more than double ha ha. been here a few times in the mid morning for coffee and cake. had the juices they blend for you here which are nice. missus tried the pizza which we light and fluffy and no overloaded.

I would highly highly recommend trying the profiteroles that are in square plastic pot they have two there and both are sublime! the lighter coloured one is a bit like Buenos bars in taste.

Nice café with loads of sweets and pastries. The service is normal, nothing special. They have nice tables in front of the local. In my opinion is a bit overpriced, I paid 3 euros for a latte, at least it was a nice one. Is the place to go if you want a good breakfast.
