Walking around Chora, we came across this lovely restaurant with beautiful views of the sea from their courtyard seating area. It was a very windy day, so we didn’t stay too long.

We ordered food, and it came relatively quickly. The octopus took slightly longer to cook, as we were told by the waitress, but we were willing to wait.

We ordered their well-known mini kebabs, marinated anchovies, fried zucchini sticks, grilled octopus, and a Greek salad.

The food was great, however, one thing that was a bit of a letdown was the octopus. It was overcooked on the grill, and as a result, it was a bit rubbery and charred.

The service was great, and the atmosphere would have been amazing if not so windy, but that's not in their control. I'll still...

Really tasty food, reasonable priced, smiley people. Portions are good. Unfortunately, we didn’t have the chance to try swordfish (due to windy weather it’s difficult to fish it) but we tried fava, zuchinni sticks, squid, meatballs and in the end they treated us halvah. Everything was great. The staff was really friendly and smiley. Amazing view. A must when you visit Astypalaia The only thing that seemed funny was that music was so good playing jazzfull and blissfull sounds and when started getting dark it sounded a bit frustrating 

Tips: Although the place is spacious it’s better to visit the place early in...

A traditional "kafeneio" nestled among trees near the castle, offering a pleasant view over Chora and the sea. The setting is both picturesque and calming, with tables shaded and tucked into the village’s charming paths. The menu features coffee, homemade sweets, and Greek-style small plates—like marinated anchovies—prepared with good quality and care. Quick and courteous service adds to the relaxed experience. The cuisine leans toward familiar dishes rather than deeply regional specialties. Overall, it’s a pleasant place to slow down with a drink or a light bite while soaking...
