Coconela Coffee & Food — Restaurant in Municipality of Central Corfu and Diapontia Islands

There is some dangerous pricing policy going on here. Everywhere i travel to, I order a double cappucino with an extra shot. Guys at coconela charged me 6.80 Euros for that. Which qualifies as the most expensive coffee i have ever had. Basically they charge 2x Double Cappuccino (2x 3.40). While in reality its one drink with an extra shot. When i enquired why, they tried to explain that its the price x2. And i appeared surprised by it, the lady at the counter offered a discount, and decreased the price to 5.70. Which is still more expensive than the same beverage in NYC, Dubai and London. The coffee was pretty good though.

Because I happen to buy coffee from the shop you buy these beans in athens, you will notice that the latte with double shot there costs 4.5 euros (4.00 + 0.50). If you really believe that stores around Greece, or in other countries, charge the extra shot as an extra double espresso (meaning an extra beverage), I think you got...

Worst service ever!!! Do NOT visit. We were three people ordering coffee. One of us wanted the coffee take away. The staff refused to put the one coffee in takeaway cup as they didn’t allow my friend not even to stand next to the table. Let me mention that my friend is obviously pregnant and they didn’t even respect this. After insisting and explaining many times that she is not going to stay but she will leave in 5 minutes they put the coffee in take away cup. After three minutes the manager came to take her coffee inside as it wasn’t in glass. The rest of us took the coffee in glass from the beginning as they demanded. I kindly asked if there is a reason for this and if there was we would have understood. The answer was that he didn’t want to argue....

I highly recommend this speciality coffee shop!

This shop has excellent coffee. I had two flat whites with a natural Ethiopian roasted in Athens by Underdog. These were both fantastically made and a pleasure to taste.

The lemon poppyseed cake was also a dream to eat as it was not too sweet and perfectly baked.

The service and knowledge of the staff is lovely and they were kind, in-spite of the long lines and chaotic moments.

The atmosphere is only 4 stars as it is on the street corner where cars and busses are loud. However, this is downtown and there is not much to be done to balance the convenience of the spot as it is superb! So it remains 5 stars.
