Read moreThe place is nice and cozy inside and, they have also tables outside. The food looks good overall, specially the fish but we didn't try it. We took spaghetti with seafood which are not their speciality, they are just below average, they lack shrimps and a proper sauce that enhances its flavour, they were tasteless and the only seafood there was a bit of octopus and a couple of mussels, tasteless and far below the average for the price, 16€. Black risotto was just a bit better, but they add too much milky/cheesy cream that is unnecessary for a black risotto as it takes away the flavour of the ink and the shrimps, it also didn't include calamari or cuttle fish (if there was some it was so few that was unnoticeable) that normally goes perfect with black risotto. To note also that they are VERY SLOW with their service, specially if you are not Italian (keep reading). We had to wait about 20 min to get the drinks after sitting (they took more than 15 min to ask for the drinks on a table of just 2 people) when we had already decided also for the food... but no, they brought the drinks and made us wait another 15 min (more than 30 min to get the food order!?), in the end we waited for about 1h for the food to come, this is not acceptable and the worst thing is that the waiters are just chilling and don't seem rushed at all. Funny thing that doesn't help it is that the man in charge spends most of his time trying to cheer and get to know any Italian person sitting in one of the tables with phrases like, "where are you from in Italy", "ohh che bella città", "mi piace Napoli", bla bla. Read moreThe food: The food was good however the portions are not great, I don’t know why many reviews say that the portions are so big that they couldn’t even finish their meal? We ordered the salmon dish (nice but not much to it, it is just a salmon fillet with a bit of purée) and shrimp saganaki (very nice).
The service: The service was not great at all, do not expect a welcome or friendliness. Normally, I don’t mind so much if the service isn’t the best but some servers here seemed judgemental and it was uninviting and unwelcoming.
The atmosphere: The atmosphere was terrible, I really don’t know why most reviews do not talk about this! Our experience would have been totally different if the atmosphere was better but I can’t look past being sat basically on the road in the boiling heat with constant traffic next to me.
IMPORTANTLY: if you go here please RESERVE BEFOREHAND!! We did not know this when coming here, and I don’t know how you are supposed to even know beforehand because their website is completely in Greek with no English translations? This is because only people with reservations can sit inside - if you don’t make a reservation you will be sat outside practically on the road or down an alley. I was confused at this as well because the restaurant inside was empty when we came, yet they claimed it was “fully booked” and we could only sit outside, and throughout our meal and afterwards only one group turned up to eat inside, so we could have ate inside with time to spare?
