Outside, we were met by a Greek lady who asked us- twice- ( in an slightly inpatient and rough manner) whether we have read the menu, conveying that we were not welcomed in without being sure we were staying there. Fine, we looked through the menu briefly and thought there were some good options. We got a table, and I felt slightly anxious as menu actually did not state what were the vegetarian options... She comes over to get our order and I respectfully mentioned that it was not clear whether some of the dishes were vegetarians, perhaps having a "v" sign would help!?( this is not usually a problem for us at all, but given the initial pressure she conveyed outside, it would be helpful to have a clearer indication of the veggie dishes in their menu, to avoid people sitting down than leaving straight after- precisely what she didn't want) Very rudly and loudly, she says that that was a Greek restaurant, a family run restaurant etc etc...I lost my appetite. My husband had his food. At the end I went to talk to her( upset, but again respectfully), to share my experience as a customer, perhaps she, as I, could take something out of it? What for... the woman started spitting fire, shouting, making accusations...( I won't even go into detail...). I haven't been to Greece many times, but my experience of Greek hospitality has been far, far...

I'm not sure of we hit the place on an off day or we were just unlucky.

We had been really looking forward to the visit following the great reviews. Our waitress was lovely and informative about the traditional dishes which we didn't know about.

For starters we had ordered the courgette balls and the calamari. The courgette came out first and we enjoyed this. We had thought that the calamari was forgotten about, but shortly after finishing the courgette it arrived. Which was fine until just two bites into the calamari, the main courses were placed in front of us too (hence the lower service rating). This was just shocking as we had barely touched the calamari at this stage. The calamari was tough and unenjiyabke so we didn't eat it. The waitress was kind to remove it from the bill as it wasn't as nice as half the places we had been.

The mains were underwhelming too. I had prawns pasta, which had very little taste, dispite the menu saying basil in the dish, it was hard to believe there was any in the dish. As for my partner had a traditional pasta dish but the beef was dry and lacked flavour also.

Experience with the waitress was lovely as she really wanted us to...

Unfriendly and average food only. With a group of six (4 adults, 2 kids) we found the restaurant on Google and arrived for lunch. We took a table for 6, but when the waitress understood that 2 of us wanted drinks only she explained us that this is not possible. She explained that people with drinks would stay long, occupy the seats, and she also refused to give us a smaller table with two additional chairs although the restaurant was not even half full (around 7 out of 10 tables were free). There was no room for discussion and our grandparents had to leave the restaurant. We stayed because the kids were super hungry. The food we ordered was decent, but not great. The Mousaka was warmed up, cold in the middle and the food took 30min to be served. All in all a very unpleasant experience. The restaurant looks nice, but the customer friendliness is below the bar and the food is just okay. We would not go there again. By the way, the photo shows the restaurant at the end of our lunch (2 additional free tables outside). The restaurant has not been even close to full during our stay and we still don’t get why our grandparents could not stay. Very...

Almost every ChatGPT responseto anything along the lines of “best restaurants in Corfu Town” and “best tzatziki in Corfu Town” mentioned this place, so when we finally managed to get a spot (they don’t take reservations) after about an hour’s wait (which we had done happily, as it was raining and we preferred to wait in the restaurant rather than scavenge for a different spot in the rain) we were slightly underwhelmed. The staff was lovely, super nice and sweet. No complaints there. Inly thing is, the food was just mediocre. My boyfriend ordered a medium steak which came very overdone. Nonetheless, he ate it and said it was nice. I ordered the stuffed courgettes, which is a dish I normally LOVE, and while Diporto’s version of it was lovely, lemony and yummy, it was absolutely SWIMMING in oil, as you can see in the picture. Again, the actual courgettes were great so I did it them, as you can see from the picture. The Greek Salad was yum, no complaints there as the feta was delicious and the vegetables were super fresh, and tzatziki was nice too. Overall, nice experience, but I wouldn’t say it’s worth the very long wait.

This was the perfect spot for dinner in Corfu Town. First, you stroll through a charming, narrow street to find this local taverna nestled into a corner. The staff is extremely friendly and excited to share the cuisine of Corfu with everyone who comes across the restaurant. The food was my favorite meal in Greece thus far. They started with a fresh, earthy salad of balsamic, mixed greens, Anthotyro cheese, and tomatoes (pictured below). We also had tzatziki which was perfectly flavored with dill and yogurt but not too much of a vinegar aftertaste. We paired it with some homemade bread that was warm but a bit hard. Finally, we had the grilled feta that came out in a sizzling plate topped with tasty peppers and onions. For our main, we had the most incredible rigatoni pastitsada with a savory, thick beef sauce and incredibly tender beef on top (also pictured on top). At the end they brought out a complimentary fruit plate which was incredibly generous and a lovely sweet end to the meal.
