We were a group of 3 children and 2 adults, and we sat at an empty table outside. We pulled an extra chair from a nearby table to have enough seating. When the waitress came to take our order, she said she would bring a stool — I assumed it was for our bags. But to my surprise, she came back with a stool and tried to make my friend give up her seat. I was shocked and told her firmly that we are five people and we all need proper chairs — we’re not going to sit on a stool.
She didn’t back off and kept arguing. I pointed to the table next to us, which also had five people, and asked why she wasn’t giving them a stool. Unbelievably, she replied, “Because they ordered a lot of drinks!”
Had my 6-year-old son not been so tired and sleepy, I would have left right then and there, leaving the food behind. I later spoke to someone inside who I believe was the manager or chef, but he also didn’t seem to care.
We stayed, but when my friend stepped away to look at a shop, my daughter rested her legs on her chair and started reading a book. The waitress — still clearly upset — came over aggressively and said, “These chairs belong to the other table,”and took the chair away, right from under my daughter. I couldn’t even respond because my son had fallen asleep in my arms.
This place is the opposite of what you’d expect from the spirit of Corfu. Loud Eminem-like music blasting through the speakers, and most importantly, a staff that sees customers as nothing more than euro signs. Next time I visit Corfu, I won’t even walk...
Read moreYesterday we visited the roastery and we were really impressed. We bought 2 bags of coffee beans. We were excited to find this outlet and waited excitedly until it opened for our morning coffee the next day. What a con! Despite the huge neon coffee roasters sign and the staff uniform showing their logo, we were served a poor quality coffee bean that was nothing to do with this roasters. The coffee was bitter, watery and tasted awful. I enquired which beans they had used and was shown a cheap supermarket style brand. I was told curtly that if I wanted the good coffee I had to ask. However, when we first arrived and we were looking at the beans we were told to go outside and they would bring the coffee to us. This option was never given. We paid and left without drinking our drinks. This coffee genuinely tasted bad. Whether you are a coffee enthusiast or not, I just don’t believe you...
Read moreTerrible service. We stopped here for a coffee. There were no clean free tables, so we sat at a dirty one. The waitress cleaned it, and after about 5 minutes she came to take our order (there was no menu, so we had to ask for one). I saw she was very busy, so I went to the bar to get it myself, but they refused to take my order there. Fine, I waited outside at the table. When we finally ordered an espresso tonic, the response we got was a dismissive: “It’s 6 euros for one.” Seriously? What kind of attitude towards customers is that? I’ve never experienced anything like this before, and I was honestly shocked. I am very upset and...
