Not really sure why this place has so many good reviews. It’s underwhelming at its best and insulting and its purest. The food was very-very mediocre. All frozen. No fresh meat or fish. We literally saw the owner opening a huge freezer and cooking from there. Even the carrots in the tiny-tiny salad accompanying the dish were warmed up from frozen.
And now to the most interesting (insulting) part. The whole place is adorned with Russian attributes. Photos, Russian dolls, empty vodka bottles etc. First of all, the place is positioning itself as Greek, so why would they hang more Russian stuff than anything else around? And second of all, it is so ignorant from the perspective of the owner to completely ignore the situation on the world and the horrors Russian culture brings with itself in Europe. It’s especially deeply insensitive to the Ukrainians visiting Corfu.
All these things all together created a deeply unpleasant experience.
The only nice thing was the waiter, who was smiley and welcoming. But considering everything else we strongly recommend you to...
Read moreRead moreGuys, if you're looking for the ultimate, authentic Greek food experience on Corfu - look no further. This is it! The owner, Mr Anastasios is the most friendly host you'll ever experience; explaining the origin and traditions of all dishes; while serving them with courtesy & a smile. The decoration is splendid, with colorful fresh flowers everywhere! And: from the home-made bread & olive oil, to the fresh-cut salad or tzaziki. This is the Greek food you've always dreamed about. You haven't eaten Dorado fish, until you've tried it here (that crispy skin!), accompanied by a half litre of wine, a couple of ouzos - or why not - a Greek coffee with ouzo. And don't forget the music! Here; you'll only hear those classic Greek sirtaki tunes of the good ol' days - feeling like Anthony Quinn in 'Zorba the Greek'. And all that for an affordable price. Where did it all go wrong from back then? 😢😋🤩 Just remember: 'Your problems don't matter. Life's a joke & it's all okay like that!' More? - @nomad4ever on...
This restaurant was such a great discovery for us - we've eaten in so many restaurants within Corfu, most of which were very pricey and none of them can top the food here. The portions are also very big and plan to eat much more than you would eat in Corfu Town for a portion. We ate fish soup (it was a huge portion) which was only 4.5 euros. I had gemista and paid about 10 euros, Kalamari and the house specialty were all around 12-13 euros. Salads are also served in big bowls and two can eat one portion. We were not charged for the bread and the wine was 6 euros for one liter. Big bottle of water was 2 euros (we paid 6 in Corfu Town). Overall, I highly, HIGHLY recommend visiting this place, you will not be disappointed. The food was superb and very, very tasty. Also, one of the most important things to note - the restaurant's cat, which is so cute and adorable and has the prettiest green eyes...
