An exemplary example of the fact that it is sometimes not good to give the first impression. A beautiful tavern with a beautiful view of the sea definitely invites you to visit and sit. Unfortunately, our experience was bad from A to Z.
After arriving at the tavern and being seated, we waited 15 minutes before receiving a menu. If the tavern was full of people I'm fine with that, but there were 5 of us in total! After 15 minutes we received the Menu and the first thing that struck me was the cleverly written prices on the Menu. 2 pretended to be 1, 8 pretended to be 3, and so on. When paying, the customer can really wonder why they suddenly pay €30-70 more than planned. We didn't want to risk this incident when paying, so we got a meal that we didn't originally want. Unfortunately, there were just those price traps with all the planned meals! Another 15 minute wait followed before the server came to take our order. After ordering and another 45 minutes we received our food. Unfortunately, to our surprise, the food was not good either. The meat was raw, tasteless and without seasoning. Instead of fries we received fried potato skins!? Since we were really hungry after the whole day, we finally ate the food, despite our strong dislike and despite the service's strong disinterest. We ate our food and another 30 minutes of waiting for the bill and payment followed. What was our surprise when, after paying, the waiter was offended that I refused to tip. For what?!!
Observations: The tavern specializes mainly in Western clientele. If you come from PL, SK, HU, CZ or RO, they will automatically treat you as inferior. Be careful what you put on your receipt and expect long waits and reluctant service.
I am very sorry for this behavior, but everyone does business in their own way! Fortunately, there are far more pleasant and better establishments than this in all of Benitses. The first warning sign was that there was suddenly no more than 40% of the tavern's capacity.
P.S. Maybe if the wait staff devoted at least half of their smoking time to their guests, it would...
Read moreKalimera! We just wanted to come to eat,we asked the young lady with some tattoos on the back (some leaves 🌿 on the back),if we can eat,and she was very irritated, angry and very aggressive with the lemon on the chopper. Now I have a bitter taste about this place,I m sorry but I m not gonna come to eat here anymore.I m sorry I need to do this, but she just cut out vibe off..for the entire day. Please pay more attention to your employees, because is not normal to ask a question and she to be so recalcitrant and pissed off. The other lady was more nice but she didn't know English. We didn't tried the food,I m sure is good but I think you should do something about this lady,I wanted to tell her some things but ,is better for you to see...
Read moreI had the carbonera, very plain with small pieces of ham on top. The baklava was obviously shop bought but tasty enough but the plate had a big chip on the edge and facing me, not very nice and also unhygienic. I asked for ouzo and was brought rose wine, i think the young waiter mistook ouzo for rose' because the only other customer had a full glass of white wine and had only just been served. I asked for a glass of fresh orange juice as on the menu but was told they didn't have any, is there an orange drought on the island? So I asked for a coffee but was told the coffee machine wasn't working. Lovely location and a bit more attention to detail would...
