We have been here 3 times during our one week vacation.
We have tried tzatziki with pita and garlic bread, that was nice. We also tried the Malcotsi for two and it was amazing. Personally we would love the tzatziki to have a little more garlic flavour. The Malcotsi was so tender and the massed potatoes was so rich and creamy.
We tried the Moussaka and slow cooked beef with onions and potato on the side. The Moussaka was too chessy for me (but I am not a big fan of cheese), my fiance loved it though đ
We have tried the Meze for two and it was nice. We love to try new things and we loved the zucchini chips with garlic dip. The spring rolls were very chessy. We are not big fans of Greek salat, since raw onions, olives and feta are not our thing, but we did eat the cucumbers, tomatoes and green bell peppers.
Generally the portions are big in Crete and so are these portions as well. There was no room for dessert unfortunately. The complementary sweet wine was nice and in my opinion, way better than raki and the fresh watermelon is so sweet and nice. The house red and white wine was to dry for my taste palate đ
The staff were very nice and the second time we were there, they could recognize us. We like that the staff have mics on, so there is no yelling across the restaurant. The atmosphere was lovely and sitting under the huge trees was a bit magical đ. Mr. Freddie was so cute to watch while we waited for the food.
I like that there on each table is a small "package" with Olive oil, next to salt and pepper. We recommend this restaurant to others and we will give it 4,5 â...
Read moreIncredible food, cozy vibes, and unforgettable evenings!
We stumbled upon Taverna Dimitris and Sakis, and ended up coming back four days in a rowâyes, four! That should tell you something.
This place is more than a restaurantâit feels like youâre stepping into the home of a local family who genuinely loves what they do. The atmosphere is warm, cozy, and real. Youâre not just a customer hereâyouâre a welcome guest.
Now, letâs talk food. đWeâre meat-lovers, and this taverna delivered big time. Juicy, flavorful, perfectly grilled meats that had our taste buds throwing a party every night. We tried a variety of dishes (youâll see in the photos we shared!) and each one was a hit. The kind of food that makes you close your eyes and go âwow.â đ€©
They also serve local wine andâthis was a surpriseânot every Greek spot has this, but they even had cider! A lovely, refreshing touch that added to the experience. And the dessert? Letâs just say you donât want to skip it.đ
The staff is incredibly kind and welcoming. They remembered us, made us laugh, and made us feel right at home. Every evening there turned into a memory.
If youâre in the area and wondering where to eatâthis is the place. Bring your appetite and get ready for one of the most delightful dining experiences...
Read moreA game (restaurant) of two halves. The front is attractive traditional Greek blue and white to entice you in and the rear looks messy and dated with unhygienic football shirts and flags hanging everywhere - I read the explanation they give why but it looks scruffy and very last century! When I arrived there were 20 guests and 7 staff and yet service was slow. Two seemed to do all the work - the friendly guy that takes the orders and the good looking young runner that brings all the food out. The lady greets and seats guests and the other 4 stand around watching intimidatingly but avoiding any follow up service! Got busier later but the same two did the most. The menu design and layout looks like it was done by a 12yo on a word processor 20 years ago which is a shame because the presentation of the food is really attractive and modern. Just don't come here for your 5 a day as everything comes with fries or rice or potatoes and salad. I asked to swap for vegetables but they don't do them! That said the food was really good and the house wine also good. Free dessert was appreciated and prices were reasonable. Hope they update the menu and decor for 2022. Could be outstanding with a few simply fixed areas for...
