As an Asian traveler who has extensively explored Europe and boasts a keen understanding of fine dining in Asian cuisine, my recent experience at this establishment left me utterly disappointed. Having had the privilege of savoring exquisite flavors across the continent, I had high hopes for an authentic culinary encounter that would remind me of home. Alas, my expectations were shattered, and the gastronomic journey I embarked upon here turned out to be dishearteningly lackluster.

Let's start with the fried rice, a dish known for its delicate balance of textures and flavors. To my dismay, what was presented before me was a greasy, overly oily mess that was far from the refined dish I anticipated. The rice lacked the distinct grains and exquisite aroma that characterize a well-prepared fried rice. Instead, it was heavy and weighed down by the excessive oiliness, resulting in a discomforting mouthfeel that overshadowed any potential taste.

Moving on to the Cantonese chili sauce, a quintessential element that can elevate a dish to new heights. However, the version served here failed to capture the complexity and subtlety that this sauce is renowned for. The lack of nuance in its flavors left me questioning whether the chefs truly understood the essence of Cantonese cuisine. The balance of spiciness, sweetness, and tanginess was amiss, rendering the sauce unimpressive and dissonant with my palate.

And then there was the sushi, a dish celebrated for its artful presentation and harmonious blend of tastes. Yet, the sushi rice that accompanied the selection was a grave letdown. Dry and lacking any semblance of moisture, it crumbled unpleasantly on the tongue. The size of the sushi itself was disproportionately small, making it a struggle to appreciate any depth of flavor that might have been intended. The rice should be a canvas that enhances the flavors of the toppings, but in this case, it detracted from them.

In conclusion, my overall experience with the food at this establishment was thoroughly unsatisfactory. It pained me to witness the potential of Asian cuisine being mishandled to such a degree. While I understand that interpretations and adaptations can vary, the fundamental essence of a cuisine should not be sacrificed. As someone who takes immense pride in showcasing the richness of Asian flavors to the world, it saddens me to say that this dining experience failed to do justice to the culinary heritage it attempted...

I never expected to find the best Asian food of my life tucked away in the heart of Chania, Crete, but this restaurant completely blew me away. From the first bite to the last, everything was exceptional—flavorful, fresh, and beautifully presented.

The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, blending traditional Asian elements with a modern, stylish vibe. The service was equally impressive—friendly, attentive, and clearly passionate about the food they serve.

Every dish was a standout. The flavors were perfectly balanced, and it was obvious that quality ingredients and authentic techniques were at the core of everything they made. Whether it was sushi, noodles, or a curry, each plate tasted better than anything I’ve had at top-rated places in big cities. It’s the kind of food that makes you stop mid-bite just to say, “Wow.”

Finding such an incredible Asian restaurant in Chania was a complete and delightful surprise. It raised the bar for what I expect from Asian cuisine, and I honestly can’t wait to go back. If you're anywhere near Chania and love Asian food, this place is an...

Everything went wrong... Ordered for 2 people.. 3x starters and 2x main dishes - starters tasted VERY good.. 1st dish was served - dish was lukewarm - no rice/nudels (and no reminder in menu to order it separately).. Ordered white rice.. Rice took 9min to come Cold! Still no 2nd dish.. After 17min 2nd dish was served, we said 1st dish was now cold.. Server offered to replace both dishes, but since she said 1st dish would be "quick" to cook (but rice would take 15min), we said we didn't need 2nd dish replaced - 16min later 1st dish was served (without rice) and was totally undercooked (originally ordered as "very very well done")... Went to head-server to pay for starters and leave... She offered us to not pay anything and excused many times... Taste of starters+2 main dishes (not rice) was 4-5stars...heat of 1st dish+rice was 1star - waiting 17min between main dishes was 1star - waiting 16min for undercooked replacement was minus 100 stars - offering no pay and excusing was "plenty of stars" - but all in...

We had a really good meal in Bao Tao the 11th of May. This was our first time, but it will not be the last time we eat here. We were 5 persons eating Kadaifi shrimps (that I loved!), Yakidori (also very good), Volcano sushi (good), Hosomaki and Temaki and Sashimi (various kind of fish). All very good. Main courses: Black bean sauce with beef, Orange sauce with duck, Spicy honey chicken, Egg fried rice with duck, and Tom yam kung. We tasted each others dishes and we liked everything. But as always, there are some dishes one like more than others. For me personally, I loved the Kadaifi shrimps, the Yakudori and the Spicy honey chicken most! The waiters were eficcient, polite and serviceminded. I am absolutely sure that we will return very soon. Highly recommended!
