Morum City Hotel Chania — Hotel in Municipality of Chania

The hotel is super clean, updated - not spacious, but the rooms are great! The location is perfect if you want to be able to walk everywhere - you are super close to the city center and a short 10-15 min walk from the beach - and honestly, it was a much better beach than I thought based on the reviews. The breAkfast was great with lots of options - including vegetarian and they did it up Every day. Fresh squeezed orange juice was def a plus. However, I cannot say enough about how truly amazing the staff was. Everyone was eager to go above and beyond - from directions to get to various places to helping in organizing your excursions and free time. I esp want to emphasize young lady that I talked to on daily basis. Maria (I don’t know her last name) - is absolutely fantastic - not only she was helpful in all the aspects, she genuinely did everything to ensure you had great vacation - whether it was Calling an excursion company late at night to confirm something, or giving you her personal advice on the restaurants and places to go to, I was truly lucky to have such a great person to rely. We stayed for nine days and had a wonderful time. The staff were incredibly accomodating and always very helpful. The location is perfect. Our room overlooked a quiet street and the hotel is five minutes walk from the sea front at the port so there is excellent shopping and dining close by. The hotel has been recently renovated so is modern and was very clean. The room was fine, the beds comfortable, there was a smart TV and the bathroom had a rain shower. My one complaint abour the room is the lack or wardrobe space for two people on a longer stay. There was just one tiny wardrobe. The buffet breakfast was very varied with a different selection every day and all was of very good quality. The cleaning staff were perhaps a tad over insistent on occasions and almost rushed us to leave the room after breakfast, but it was not a great inconvenience. However, this place looks nothing like the photos. The entrance to the hotel, looks like the pics However, the rooms were not entirely clean and I found quite a few stains

The bathrooms were MUCH smaller than looked on the pics and much much older as well. The drain in the shower barely worked at all, which caused flooding all the time.

The breakfast was meh. Not a must.

PARKING - this was our biggest biggest pain point. We thought that we booked with parking, however they told us parking must be reserved well in advance (we asked over a week before our check in) AND you must pay as well. We ended up parking our car in different locations and be ware that it’s hard to find! And EXPENSIVE Expect to pay over 25 EUR for a night
