Very bad experience. When we arrived at the restaurant, we were initially ignored and waited for a while until the waiter asked what we wanted. Not even "Hello" first. We got a table and menus quickly and then the wait started. Our order was only taken after about 15 minutes of waiting. About 10 minutes later the drinks came. During this time, no other customers came to the restaurant and several of the group paid their bills and left. There were 6-7 tables of customers. Then we waited 15 minutes for the starters (garlic bread and grilled feta), garlic bread was missing. 30 minutes wait for the appetizers from order. After eating the grilled feta, we decided to take the bill for the drinks and appetizers we had already enjoyed and go to another restaurant because of the poor service and the waiting time that was too long. We asked for a bill from another waiter and after that we waited a few minutes for our waiter to come. He came with our dishes. We told you we were disappointed and wanted to pay and leave. At this point, the waiter becomes aggressive and starts to insist that we couldn't wait as long as we said. We ask for payment, to which he responds aggressively that we also have to pay for food that we have not eaten or want to bring with us. I pay the bill and we leave.
At no time did we feel welcome. The attitude of the waiters was very rude...

Read moreWe had a wonderful dinner at Kosmas Taverna! I honestly had the feeling in Crete that pretty much all restaurants had a rating between 4.5-5 stars whether the food was good or not, but this place was definitely a cut above the rest. We got there fairly late on a Saturday and the back area was pretty much full. It was a really lovely atmosphere with the tree covering and lights (there were even a few violin songs played :) ). There was a small playground at the very back, which seems practical for those with children. We got garlic bread, Moussaka, and Goat with cooked greens. They were all wonderful. As we ate there after returning from hiking the Samaria Gorge, we abruptly became very tired and tried to quickly pay and leave. The waiter/host seemed a bit baffled by this but was really nice about it and even rushed the complimentary dessert and shot so we could enjoy it before we left :) ...
