Το παραδοσιακο του Κοκκίνη χάνι — Restaurant in Municipality of Chersonissos

Found this lovely traditional taverna whilst staying in kokkini hani in mid may, and had dinner here for about 5 nights. The owner 'Mike' was very helpful and friendly, even though he was always extremely busy. He didn't speak perfect English, and we didn't speak much greek, but we had great fun figuring out what local delicacies were available, and we were never disappointed..the food was delicious and very reasonably priced e.g 2 starters, tzaki side dish and bread, 2 mains, half litre house wine, and tin of coke around 32 euros... followed by complimentary desserts and raki and on a couple of occasions Mike would set another jug of wine on our table! If you are looking for great traditional food, frequented by locals, a pleasant stroll from the main strip, at a decent price then look no further than ' Mike's Taverna' P.S Mike, thanks for the lovely wine you gave us upon our leaving for home, we enjoyed drinking it in our garden and reminiscing about our lovely holiday in Crete.
