Babel Beach Bar — Restaurant in Municipality of Chersonissos

Absolutely brilliant beach bar in such that it's hosts Thanasis and Maria are up there with the best when it comes to Greek hospitality; this on top of a good food and drinks menu make for an ideal friendly place for your day at the beach and afterwards for a sociable drink on an evening.

I celebrated my 60th birthday while on my holiday and they went above and beyond to help me enjoy it with some crazy funny antics and a cake especially made for me by Maria.

I've met a lot of Greek people over the years but these two are so genuine and unique I class them as friends.

You know Cheers bar? Well that's what Babel is to us. Warm welcome, get yourself to the beach or bar straight away. Swim, order spag bol, cheeseburger or cold plate. Cold beer, frappe or juice. Sit back read a book or talk to Thanasis about the state of things. Fantastic playlist, which takes hours to create over winter. Maria, well, you just need to ask. Something different to the menu? Taxi? Towel? Celebrating a birthday? Maria is always cooking a sweet for customers, which is always gorgeous.

What a wondeful welcome as always from Thannasis and Maria. This bar has something very special and as a solo traveller I feel looked after, nothing is too much trouble. The view is perfect, as are the iced frappes, and the sunbeds, the comfiest I have ever lay on and free too as long as you purchase food and drinks. The food also is excellent with a wide range of options and Maria is always happy to cook what you want. I have so much love for this couple and this bar, until...
