Mary's place — Restaurant in Municipality of Chersonissos

In May 2019 I was making one of my annual visits to Stalis (Stalida), Crete where I have being going for 40 years. Normally I go there in September each year but in 2019 a decision was made to make two trips there. So, as I was there in May 2019 I decided to check out my accommodation for September 2019 and this is what happened;||1. Great difficulty in locating the property and only for two local ladies that I knew I would not have found it.||2. The property Mary's Place is up a laneway badly paved and unlit and I would not feel save going back there at nighttime.||3. I cancelled my reservation and payment of 1,190 euro's made in advance under the property rules would not be refunded given the fact my cancellation was three and half months notice. This was extremely disappointing and I have never in 40 years of travel come across such a policy of non-refunding payment with so much advance notice of cancellation. When I eventually found these apartments they were near the main road which is very noisy, and the building looked very dilapidated for accommodation in a premier resort like Stalis. ||||NOTE - these apartments Mary's Place are not to be confused with Mary's Bar which is across the road from the said laneway and a lovely place for a relaxing drink watching the world walk past or watch good...

Just a short walk away down a side street to the apartment. |Upon arrival, the apartment was very clean and very spacious with 2 bedrooms. Sofia even provided us with a fruit, water and toiletries .|The apartment was very close to the square in Stalis and the side street was well lit at night. |The maid cleaned the apartment very well everyday and we were left clean towels every couple of days.|We had a very large balcony, large fridge freezer and to be honest it felt like a home from home. |Sofia was at hand if we needed her and contactable via WhatsApp .|We would stay here again without hesitation and would recommend it to family and friends. |Thank you Sofia for being such a...
