my boyfriend and i always loved to go to sofra restaurant during our vacation in malia. i can only recommend going to sofra!!! the food was always the highlight of our day and the best food we ate in greece!! the fresh salmon was without any fish bones always and so so delicious with the lemon olive sauce and the pepper sauce i ordered omg a dream!! i am still dreaming about it!! and my boyfriend always loved to eat the sofra schnitzel which was so crispy thin and delicate - best schnitzel he ever had!! and eva and the whole family from sofra always made us feel so so welcome and rly grew into our hearts!! we will never forget them, they were always just so so kind and hospitable and treated us like royalty!!🥹🫶🏼💞 already missing going to sofra and can’t wait to go again when we are back in malia!! if you want to experience hospitality of one of a kind and have the most delicious food you need to...

This restaurant is highly recommended!! My girlfriend and I were visiting Crete for the first time and staying in Stalida. We decided to walk towards Malia and checked out several places along the way until we came across this family-run restaurant. The atmosphere and ambiance immediately drew us in.

We were welcomed with a smile and allowed to choose our own table. The family served us with consistent friendliness and provided excellent service, fulfilling every request we had.

As for the food – simply amazing. It was the best meal we had during our stay on Crete. We ordered a small Greek salad, the Caesar salad, spaghetti carbonara, and the house-recommended starter, Sofra Bruschetta. Before that, we were even served a delicious complimentary appetizer.

We had such a wonderful time at Sofra. Even without a reservation, we only waited about 5–10 minutes for a table, which was no trouble at all.

The food was excellent. They welcomed us with fresh bread and olives, and the cheese saganaki was absolutely outstanding—a true 10/10. We tried a mix of traditional dishes and grilled options, but the traditional plates were definitely the highlights.

The atmosphere was warm and inviting—cozy, though a little lively at times, but never in a way that disrupted our meal. The staff were all genuinely kind and attentive, even apologizing for what they thought was a delay in service (though we hadn’t noticed at all).
