Valentina's is an amazing place to stay. Valentina, Manos, Maria, Alex and everyone we met there made this place so special. You are made to feel like family and you can tell the local community really treasure and appreciate them. The pool bar is great and on the weekdays in particular, it is so peaceful. Never any fights for a sunbed. ||The food was amazing and plentiful - would really recommend the waffles and pancakes! But make sure you have a big appetite; I chose the pancakes one day thinking they'd be smaller than the waffles the previous day and they were even bigger! 😋 We had breakfast included and they were always very accommodating with our requests. Bbq night the food was soooo good and was a lot of fun with drinks and dancing. ||We had a 1 bed apartment overlooking the mountains, which had great views from the bedroom and balcony. And our friend had a really private studio balcony with a direct view through the olive groves. A good size and with rustic charm. The complimentary bottle of wine and sweets on arrival were a nice touch. The hotel next door plays loud music up until 11pmish, but this is blocked out entirely when the shutters/windows are closed, so didn't affect sleep. We'd love to come again and next time I'd choose a top floor apartment or an end apartment with no one above. But all have great views. There are no lifts, so just worth mentioning for those with mobility problems. But I walk with a stick and found the first floor apartments accessible to walk up to. ||The location is probably best if you have a car, but some other guests we met happily used the bus and walked to places. Valentina's was a good base for us to travel to neighbouring towns and some of us did walk into Gouves to the beach and shops, which is about 20 minutes away. Roadside parking was never an issue. But Valentina's actually has everything you need with the pool bar, shop underneath and cash machine across the road. The shop sold lovely and reasonably priced gifts to take home with us and we even took some of Manos's brother's honey! Which shows how family orientated this place is. ||Valentina works really hard to make this such a special place and she works such long days, I don't know how she does it! But we all agreed we would love to come back and can completely see why so many other reviewers come...

Read moreWe booked our accommodation with Valentina through a travel agency. Due to a flight delay, we arrived very late in the evening, yet we were welcomed with great kindness — and even served dinner, although the kitchen had already closed. From the very first moment, we were treated like family.||Our stay was truly relaxing and enjoyable. The room was comfortable and clean, and I especially appreciated the pool — it was great to have the option to stay in and swim when I didn’t feel like walking down to the beach. While the accommodation is not directly by the sea, this is exactly what makes it so peaceful and ideal for a restful holiday. There are fewer people, no crowds or noise like in large all-inclusive resorts where thousands of people are constantly bustling around you. It really felt like a small oasis in paradise.||Alexandra’s cooking was absolutely fantastic — we still talk about how delicious everything was. Valentina and her husband Manos were also incredibly kind and helpful — it was a pleasure to meet them.||I can truly recommend this place to anyone looking for peace and relaxation. I really hope we’ll be back soon, as after this year’s holiday, this has become our new go-to destination.|Next year, we will arrange our booking directly with Valentina — we wouldn’t want to stay anywhere else!||And one last note: although we had been warned that Crete might be expensive, we were pleasantly surprised by how reasonably priced...
