I recently visited the ZESI Cretan Taste Experience restaurant two nights in a row, which allowed me to thoroughly explore their menu and consistency of service.
The first visit was absolutely fantastic. I was impressed with the taste and quality of all the food I ordered. The absolute highlight of the evening was the grilled octopus - perfectly prepared, succulent and full of flavour. Every bite was a delight and it accurately represented what one expects from authentic Cretan cuisine.
As for the service, I can't complain. The staff was perfect both nights, especially the lady who served us. She was attentive, helpful and contributed to the overall pleasant experience of the visit.
Unfortunately, the second visit was not as successful from a culinary standpoint. I ordered the same dishes as the previous day, but the quality was noticeably worse. Especially the octopus, which I was so excited about on the first day, was not tasty at all this time. It seemed as if it had been prepared in a hurry, without the care and attention I had experienced the day before.
Despite the disappointment of the second evening, I think the ZESI Cretan Taste Experience is definitely worth a visit. When the chefs are on their game, they can prepare truly delicious dishes that transport you straight to Crete. While the fluctuating quality is a shame, I believe the first night better represented the true potential of this restaurant. Visit ZESI for an authentic Cretan experience, but you might want to check if they are too busy to be disappointed by the quality...
Read moreWe had an absolutely wonderful experience at Zesi in Analipsi. The service was amazing from the moment we arrived, and a special thanks goes to our server Valentina, who made the evening even more enjoyable with her warmth and professionalism.
We ordered a main course and cocktails, both of which were excellent. What stood out even more was the hospitality – not only were the cocktails and food fantastic, but we were also gifted with a beautiful appetizer of assorted breads served with two traditional dips: olive oil with spices and a Greek yogurt with beetroot combination.
To finish, they surprised us with dessert – a rich chocolate mousse cake and a fresh fruit platter – as well as their homemade rakii, both the traditional version and a delicious house special with honey.
The generosity, quality, and atmosphere made this dining experience truly memorable. Zesi is a must-visit if you’re...
Read moreWe’re a couple from the Netherlands and had an amazing dinner at Taverna Zesi in Analipsi. The food was truly delicious – my girlfriend had the Pasta Zesi (like carbonara), I had chicken gyros. Both were 10/10.
As a starter we shared sfougato with goat cheese (very tasty), but even before that we got a generous bread platter on the house. After dinner, they surprised us again with a free dessert (chocolate ice cream + Kinder Bueno cake) and two types of ouzo. All delicious, but actually too much after the meal – if we had known, we would’ve ordered less!
Only small downside: the food came out quite fast.
