Symposium — Restaurant in Municipality of Eastern Samos

I'm usually very sceptical about restaurants with many tables as they don't really have that family quality of the smaller tavernas. Plus "Symposium" is a bit pretentious name. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food - especially the dolmadakia: pretty much everywhere else they were lacking salt. I know this could just be my personal preference but their dolmades were juicy, tasty and with the thinnest possible leaves. Another item from their menu which swayed my opinion about was the grilled stuffed calamari. I tried many, many times in different areas of Greece and was always left with disappointment - because grilled calamari was always chewy like rubber (that's why I usually order fried calamari). I was just stunned on how good Symposium's stuffed calamari was, top quality! Smooth, soft and full of flavour - I recommend it wholeheartedly. The only thing that I missed was some retsina option as the restaurant only served bottles and glasses of wine and I didn't feel like spending 5.30 euro for a glass of wine (I suspected a house one) Overall - a very good choice to where to eat when in...

The conclusion after our holiday that this is really the best restaurant in town. We tested this place 3 times:

First time I ate the lamb chops, excellent. The service was excellent, fast and friendly.

Second time we were here I took the fried calamari and it was as well very good! Might have been one of the best dishes of the trip.

Last evening we wanted to make sure we have a good dinner and we came here a third time. We shared some beet and then I took the pork leg thing, cant remember the name. Perfect as well.

The service was outstanding – polite, prompt, and professional. The staff were always friendly, attentive, and ready to offer helpful suggestions, which we truly appreciated.

As for the cuisine, the dishes were simply exceptional. Perfectly cooked, made with fresh ingredients, and presented with care. A real highlight was the [e.g. seafood risotto / fresh catch of the day], which was flavorful and executed to perfection. The desserts were a delightful surprise – light, creative, and absolutely delicious.
