If your reading this for a quick review, we'll here it is don't hesitate and book that table, your in for a food pleasure journey like no other, this is special. If you've hung around for a bit longer, well for over 66 years as with all of us, I have either been cooked for and fed or cooked myself. I hold great memories along that journey of gastronomic delights and discovery and some not so much. Every new meal challenges our view of what good food is and what it should be. Knife and Fork have achieved a level of cuisine not just sublime in its beauty to look at, but also in the scents and flavours they have captured in their dishes, with a menu to cater for everyone. I write this after our third visit here over the last 10 days and on each and every occasion that high bar of excellence has been taken higher. This truly is an amazing place we have been so fortunate to have eaten at. I cannot fault it's location, set with the back drop of a beautiful bustling harbour side in Pythagoria and amongst a lively taverna parade. The staff are so gracious with their time and patience, working in every way to ensure all of us eating there have the very best attention. Taking in other guests food about us, being presented to them so elegantly, and watching their eyes widen in delight at the dishes being served them, only heightened our expectations. Watching the pleasure of their first taste just magnified the excitement for the food we shortly received. The quality and pride in the service made by the restaurants owner is truly at a level, that in all those 66years, I've never seen so intensely and lovingly made. It was at this point that we realised that these meals were truly special. I have hinted at the beauty of the presention, mentioned the warm welcoming atmosphere of the restaurant and then the food itself. Each dish has its own wow, the linguine with salmon, rich yet dreamly light, punched through with local herbs and delicious fresh flaky salmon, the pork tenderloin so unbelievably tender, bouncing with flavour and depth, crisp vegetables accompanying the dish, or the Souvlaki an amazing visual triumph with chunks of mouthwatering pork and lightly crisped peppers along with assorted accompanying local green and root vegable adding to the deep flame rich meat. Complimenting the food, we found wines taken from a variety of regions of the world but including fabulous local wines, our favorite, reds rich, warm, dry and punchy to enhance the flavours of the food we had chosen, each table about us clearly enjoying similar parrings for their choices. Descibing just these few dishes does nothing to really portray the food delight we found. If there is a secret ingredient at play here it's love and a passionate belief in creating unique and simply delicious food. We've been so lucky to have found this restaurant. So again if you only want a short review, here it is, eat here! Do it or you'll miss something indescribably special, that is rare to find. Take that first bite, you will not regret it. The...
Read moreSo yes, this is one of the best restaurants in Samos. The service was great and the staff is super friendly. Everything is arranged unusually well for Greece. We had an early dinner with the kids (4 yrs and 21 months old). And so chose a simple starter of dips and pita bread. This was okay but nothing spectacular. As a main course my partner had the salmon pasta and I had a Striploin steak. The kids had nuggets and fries. The pasta was great, my Striploin steak was moderate, it was a bit on the chewy side. The knife and fork sauce was a bit overprized and a bit crude; large chunks of mushroom. The kids nuggets were a bit dry and the fries a bit on the thick side making them difficult to eat for the kids. The plates the serve the kids dinner on were a bad pick. 3 loose items stacked on the plate (mayo, ketchup and a basket of fries), one can imagine a boy of almost 2 making a nice mess of that. We had a bottle of overpriced red wine. Even though we got here ahead of the crowd it soon became extremely busy and it got a bit rushed on the terrace. So all in all it's a nice place to eat, but for me it sure isn't the best I've ever had or on Samos for that matter. The real gems are hidden away not in the super touristic harbors but more inland. Orizontas to name one tops this place by far, in terms of good and special food. Friendlier...

We had no reservation and arrived very very early by Greek standards because our 1 year old daughter needed to go to bed. We felt a bit awkward because we where so early but the staff took extra care to make us feel comfortable and welcome. For our daughter a special chair, drinks and cutlury where provided. Amazing!
The food was delicious! We had a lovely ribeye which was perfectly grilled and by far the best Saganaki we had during our trip. With a great dessert to finish it all off.
However, the friendliness of the staff was what made it special the most. We chatted a little about life, met their children who are also working in the restaurant and the owner eventually said goodbye with the words "have a wonderful life".
It was by far the best restaurant and the best experience we had during our holiday. And as I said, I still can't believe how nice this was.
100% recommend and...
