La Strada Restaurant — Restaurant in Municipality of Eastern Samos

Here, we ordered a Margherita Pizza, French Fries, and Beer. Since I have some personal knowledge about making Neapolitan-style pizza, I feel comfortable reviewing the pizza.

It was clear that the pizza dough hadn’t rested well and wasn’t prepared with fermentation techniques like biga or poolish. As a result, although the crust was crispy, the inside wasn’t soft enough and lacked air bubbles. Had this criterion been met, it could have been an excellent pizza. This place had the best mozzarella I’ve tasted in Samos; the cheese and sauce were well balanced.

As a big fan of French fries, I’ve tried them at 5-6 different places in Samos, and this was my favorite restaurant for fries. In fact, I don’t remember having such delicious fries even in Turkey. They were wedge-cut, and the potatoes were flavorful and full inside.

For beer, we chose Alfa and Mythos. Alfa’s taste was similar to beers in Turkey, while Mythos was a bit sweeter. Frankly, I didn’t like either of them but would prefer Alfa. If you enjoy sweeter beers, you might like Mythos, so maybe don’t take my preferences too seriously. Writing this as someone who only enjoys Bomonti in Turkey and drinks Tuborg Gold malt beer when Bomonti isn’t available.

In conclusion, I’d say this is a decent spot if you want to have pizza.

Good vegetarian dishes, great service and friendly staff. Haven’t been this happy with a meal in a while! My family and I often like to share meals and our waitress asked us immediately if we wanted small individual plates without us having to request it. We came two dinners in a row, ordered the vegetarian pizza Villagers, the vegetarian Moussaka, the Greek Salad and the Green salad. The Green Salad originally had walnuts but since I really do not like nuts in general, we asked if they could be replaced with feta cheese, a request that was granted without as much as a bat of an eye. The pizza was exceptionally savoury and delicious, and every bite was an individual pleasure.
