Nice beach bar with cool furniture and a friendly Dutch speaking waittress. We came to Smile café a lot over the years because we liked the view. When we tried to order a caraf of white wine, we were told they only serve by glass. Ok, 2 glasses of wine then ... The glass was half full and the wine was the same as in all bars. A little surprise when the bill came: 8 euro for two half glasses of wine :-) You have to visit a really fancy bar in Belgium to pay that price. And you will get a glass of real wine then .... Overall a sad business!...
Read moreWent for New Year. The beach was lovely, almost tourist-free. Only place open, the obese waiter/owner/chef was one of the most unpalatable persons so far encountered in beautiful Greece. Complete rip-off, preyed on tourists such as our group: stale bread and lots of unordered foods brought into the table and charged with the excuse 'no speak English'. Vile and opportunistic. Left a BAD taste, Matala never again, Crete never again either. Visitors beware of some Greeks like this one at Boho's giving the whole Greek...
Read moreOk so, sometimes I read a review or 12 and overcome my resto-radar, and try a place anyway...let me say this...if the photo of the place in my review makes you want to go here, go here. If, like me, it's as welcoming as screams from a dentist chair, take my word for it, and walk on. The beer is decent and well priced. The chicken in the gyros taco was a sad, stale waste of avian life....thereafter buried in gloop-de-gloop. Maybe when it's full, some vibe escapes the purple hump-hump bar...
