Envy by name but not by nature!
Edited to add.. they say they close at 1am but this is not true... they inconsiderately blare out music until 5 or 6 am, they have no concern for people living nearby , just another sign of the total arrogance of the people who own and or run this place!! I visited this place back in 2018 and gave it a 5-star review... well, how things have changed! I have been in the restaurant business most of my adult life, running large establishments in the UK and I was also a training manager for a large Brewery in London, I do know what I am talking about! Good management means leading by example, which is why this place has gone to the dogs in the last 2 years. I have never met such an arrogant and disrespectful manager ever! The place needs a good clean, the arms of the white chairs are ingrained with dirt. The staff are following the manager's attitude, the service was extremely slow. We gave up in the end and left, paying for the 1 beer and cancelling the order for 2 others. The manager was leaning at the bar chatting to a young woman. I suggested that if he paid more attention to supervising his staff and less to young women then maybe customers would get served faster. His response was to sneer at me and turn away whilst saying 'You're welcome, thank you very much' 2 young waiters who were also leaning by the bar thought this was very funny and laughed, which again just goes to show that attitude and manners come from the top.! This is the last time I will visit this place and I suggest they start cleaning up before the Health inspectors arrive. This place is so arrogant that they couldn't even be bothered to claim their...
Read moreI don’t understand why restaurant owners often try so hard to impress guests when they first open, but once they gain some popularity, they completely relax and stop caring about service.
We’ve celebrated several children’s birthdays at this place before, and this time we decided to have a quiet family dinner — but we were terribly disappointed. The staff themselves admitted they were having issues with waiters, and it was unclear who was actually serving us. When we asked for salt and pepper, we were given paper sachets — something you’d expect from a fast-food place, not a restaurant.
What shocked us most was that this is the only place in Heraklion where, after spending over €100 on dinner, you don’t receive any complimentary treat. Crete has always been known for its hospitality — even in a small local taverna, after spending €20–25, you’ll be offered fruit, dessert, or a drink on the house.
We waited a long time for the waiter, and when we finally asked for the bill, he simply said, “Yes, but you have to pay now,” with no politeness or smile. The service was terrible overall.
Such a shame — it’s a beautiful place that used to be so popular, but now it seems they no longer care about...
Read moreSaw this impressive place and couldn’t resist taking a look. So, we went right in and sat down in the white chairs near the window, having a fine view of the ocean. I ordered a beer while my friends went to the Talos Centre on an errand. This gave me a chance to look around and take in what had been an impressive place. I say ‘had been’, because it was truly filthy. I tried to clean the armrest but the dirt was ingrained. I couldn’t leave, as my friends weren’t due back yet.
When they returned, they ordered two beers and we waited and waited. Eventually we all stood and walked toward the exit. The manager was chatting to a girl at the bar and two staff members were sniggering, obviously having nothing better to do. The management is appalling....
