We visited on a Thursday. We pre-booked a table because we were a group of six. Our table was great. Awesome views and in a quieter section away from the busy area.
The food was pretty good and really priced. Nothing amazing.
The drinks were average. My negroni was not mixed well, too warm and expensive, compared to local bars.
The bottle of white wine was €35, but tasted like $15! The glasses were too big and think glass. Unpleasant experience.
Our server was absolutely delightful. Very friendly, and helpful. She was attentive for the first hour, and then we had to track her down and wait for drinks. It seems nobody else can serve us, so we often had to wait for our server.
The physical atmosphere was awesome. A very lovely looking bar, especially after sunset, when the lights come on.
The drinks were about 20% more expensive than is expect, compared to other local bars. At 10pm all drinks increased in price buy €2 because there was a singer. Odd. A cocktail was €10-18, wine was €25-60 a bottle, spirit was €10-20.
All in all, a pretty good experience.... However, the DJ was unbelievably poor. A royal mishmash of random songs, and different tempo, and very jarring genre shifts. There were moments of lively chilled house, but mostly it was terrible. At 9-10pm the BPM was 90-100, and was sending us to sleep! There was some really bizarre song choices. It's a big shame, because the PA system looked and sounded incredible. I was desperate for another DJ to come on. I love music, but it was noticeably poor, even by members of our group who normally wouldn't notice the soundtrack to the evening. If you want decent sonic vibes, go to Toucan along the road. 20% cheaper, staff are more attentive and the DJ on Tuesday was...
Read moreWe were there for drinks at night. We came in early, so we were able to appreciate the place a bit before it got full. The place is a terrace setup, looking at the seaside. The place looks nice at night.
Between the things I liked was the music being played and the atmosphere, at first. The waitress was kind, prompt and responsive.
Between the things I did not like were: overly crowded. All of a sudden people were taking over our tables and we were being bumped all the time. What I hoped to remain a laid back experience soon turned into a heavy club experience. the music got loud. People around us had to scream to be heard, which made the experience bad. Also, we could not hear one another. the drinks were significantly overpriced. the portions I got were ridiculous. Half-a-finger height pours. the cocktails were disappointing, even the signature ones. They were evidently poorly executed. The tastes were off, especially due to the overuse of ice. Soon enough I was drinking water with a faint taste of alcohol. a bit pretentious. Several people welcoming you and showing you to the table. At the same time, the waiter helpers were...
Read moreWe went here for a place to catch a lovely sunset and to relax and have some nice food. However this was not the case from the moment we arrived. We were seated at our table at 19:30pm and there were only 3 other families there, there were so many staff running around still setting up and it made the environment feel uncomfortable, surely you set up a restaurant before you open to the public? We went to order our drinks however the waiter we asked then said ‘sorry I can’t take your order you’ll have to wait for your server’. At this point there were still hardly any customers in so I haven’t a clue why he couldn’t take our drinks order. Then came the food - 4 out of 7 meals came cold including the steak, chicken and burger meal. We sent these back and it took over 30 minutes for us to receive another meal and at that time we were pretty much over the shoddy service and weren’t that hungry. The food was bland and definitely not worth the money even if it had come out on time and hot. Overall the experience was so disappointing and we won’t be returning. Do not recommend wasting...
