Searocco — Restaurant in Municipality of Ierapetra

The atmosphere is nice, we had a table by the sea so that was really pleasant. As of the food, we had spicy cheese dip which seemed to be so old that it started fermenting. The grilled vegetables were good. We also ordered tuna for the main courses, the fish was a bit over cooked and the potato was cold and lacked salt. Wine was good. The waiting time for the food was quite too long and, in the end, they didn’t accept cards so we had to walk to the closest ATM and back for 35 minutes or so. Overall, the location and atmosphere leaves a good impression, meanwhile service and food could be way better.

UPD: as for the reply for the owner, I did google the cheese dip where as it says that cheese is aged which makes sense, what actually does not make sense was the difference between aged cheese and the dip that was fermented and tasting like it was actually about to go bad. I do know the difference between medium and well-done since I work in kitchen industry as well but that tuna was absolutely over cooked and dried out. I strongly believe this is the same restaurant as Astrophengia. The kitchen is on the other side of the road. From the very beginning, we were trying to find "Astrophengia", but the waitress kept saying SeaRocco. We finally realized they are the same place.

The food is superb. We had the traditional snail, grilled calamari, grilled sardines and risotto. They are still the best we've tasted in Crete. And the price is very reasonable.

Amazing food, service and atmosphere. We had fresh fish of the day: grilled tuna and grilled veggies. We had fried cheese with tomato marmalade, side fries and a huge portion of seafood pasta. We also found here non alcoholic wine which was a nice opportunity to have some wine during our early dinner. We got cake on the house at the end. The waiters were reallh friendly.
