Aegean Tavern — Restaurant in Municipality of Kalymnos

Absolutely horrendous service on all levels. The food was decent but not up to par with the price level and the appearance that the restaurant is trying to carry.

We, a group of 3, had a reservation for 9 pm and arrived exactly at 9, to a queue of people waiting outside. They all had reservations too, and were waiting to be seated. It would be 20 minutes before we were seated, another 20 minutes before our order was taken, yet another 20 before our appetizers were served and over an hour on top of that before our main dishes were served.

Other points of poor service: We ordered the zucchini appetizer, and mine had a black hair on the inside of the breading. This appetizer was served with a lime boat, which was clearly not freshly cut and was very dry, to the point where we could not get a single drop from it.

The waiter that served the zucchini physically pushed one of us to the side in order to place the dish down. She did not ask or inform that she needed space, in any way.

The waiter serving our drinks didn't bother to move around the table to serve them. He stood at one end, placing the glasses in the middle of the table, and only poured the water when asked.

For mains we wanted to order the short ribs, but were informed that those were not available today. Not as in "we ran out" but as in "we don't serve this thing that's on the menu today." Instead we ordered the braised pork, which was overall fine. The meat was nice and tender, there was a fitting amount and the presentation on the plate was good. The potatoes were a little hard and bland, and the wine sauce was very salty, completely ruining the sourness of the wine and the sweetness of the fruit garnishing.

was one of the first guest at the restaurant had placed our orders, then told they did not have the products to make the main order, told however could have the products their in 40mins and they would let us know asap if something is wrong by wait staff. 30mins goes by people are starting to arrive, my tables waitress returns to inform us they are unable to get the ingredients for our meals and we would need to select something else.. fair enough.

we select new items for our mains then the waiters begin serving the other arriving customers, meanwhile my table is still waiting for our appetizers now and hour in, other tables were receiving their appetizers and then main meals yet our table has received nothing. finally out comes the appetizers about 10-15mins later

our table asks about our orders as others seem to be getting their meals but we are not, we are constantly told 5 more mins after asking 3 times.

finally when we get up to leave as we have now waited 1hr and 40mins for our mains the waitress begs for us to be paitient as they are 2 more mins away.. we decide we will give then the benefit of the doubt as we have waited this long so far.

meals come out and served 2 meals were cold to luke warm and only warm on the outside as had been sitting under the heat lamp for some time, no idea why these could not have been served when they were ready however the 2 other remaining meals were at least decently hot.

disappointed with food and service at this establishment, I do not think our orders should have been pushed to the back of the line of a now full restaurant considering fault was on the restaurant and...

We left before ordering.. We booked a table one night before as we knew it's hard to get there without a reservation. We could choose a table for upcoming night, so we chose one particular one from 3 left choices, for particular time. Basically whole afternoon we adapted to be there on time, on our very last evening. When we got there, somebody was sitting on chosen table. We said our name to a waiter, he went to check a reservation, came back, looked at "our" occupied table and then told us that the other=the least wanted table, right in the entrance is ours. We said, that the occupied table was supposed to be booked. He looked at us with supprise: "oh, you booked exact table?" Then he went to "check" something and other waitress came while we were waiting. We told her the situation, she was acting that there was no mistake on their side, like we would book that other table. Then she suggested either to sit down at that not wanted table and wait in the meantime for the other one or to wait on couch. She was the one, we booked it at the other night. I'm 100% sure about the table we booked and convinced 150% due to the waiter's behaviour. He knew we should have sat somewhere else and pretended that we are wrong.
