Ellinikon — Restaurant in Municipality of Karpathos

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Ellinikon restaurant in Pigadia Karpathos and it was an absolutely fantastic experience. The restaurant specializes in traditional Greek dishes made with local ingredients and the quality of the food is outstanding.

The menu is full of delicious options, including fresh seafood, grilled meats, and a variety of vegetarian dishes. Everything we ordered was cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. The service was also excellent, with the friendly staff providing great recommendations and making us feel right at home.

The service was unfortunately really bad. We asked if we could sit at a table we wanted but they said it was reserved. Another table we wanted to sit at was also reserved. We sat down at another table and a few minutes later a couple walked buy and the waiter quickly removed the reserved sign so they could sit there. Next we asked them if they reserved before and they said no. Another couple sat down at the other reserved table and they also hadn’t reserved. We don’t know why they didn’t want us to sit there, maybe it was racism? When we confronted them they just lied and said that only one table was reserved and the other one was not. The didn’t smile the whole night and didn’t even say have a good night like everyone else always says.The makarounes were very greasy, the plate was full of oil. I do not recommend this place. We decided to eat here because of how nice it looked on the outside. When we wanted to sit, the (I assume) manager was very rude and direct so we didn’t feel welcome from the start. After that we had to wait half an hour to order our drinks and food. We ordered a Fanta, as it was on the menu, but de waiter said they only had a local one which tastes the same. It certainly did not. I ordered chicken souvlaki and my boyfriend ordered a chicken burger. After another 30 minute wait the food finally came. My boyfriend got a piece of grilled ground chicken instead of a burger.
