Sea Zone Karpathos — Restaurant in Municipality of Karpathos

A true gem in the heart of Karpathos town!

We’ve been visiting this new all-day restaurant repeatedly during our vacation and have been consistently blown away. The chef, Nicolaos Melas from Menetes, has truly elevated the island's food scene with his fresh, tasty, and creative gourmet dishes. The quality and flavor are simply exceptional.

We've tried everything from their delicious coffees and brunches to classic Greek dishes, and every single one was perfect. The chicken gyros, chicken souvlaki, and fried calamari are outstanding, as is the savory mushroom risotto and the perfectly cooked salmon with veggies. They even prepared a special off-the-menu salmon salad with a mustard dressing that was, without a doubt, the most flavorful I've ever tasted.

Beyond the incredible food, the service from the whole team is what really makes this place shine. The waiters, Gert and Eri, are incredibly kind and professional, always going above and beyond to cater to every customer's needs. The entire staff is a testament to how fantastic the food and service industry can be here.

12.07.2024 La nostra prima cena a Karpathos non poteva avere cornice migliore. Il locale è stupendo, il servizio è impeccabile (Gert è stato così gentile da spostarci a un tavolo vista mare che si era liberato mentre, già preso posto, sfogliavamo il menù) e, inutile dirlo, il cibo è eccellente. Abbiamo preso fiori di zucca ripieni, accompagnati da una marmellata all'albicocca buonissima (accostamento tanto insolito quanto gradito), e gamberi serviti con salsa al pomodoro e feta (così freschi che è stata un'impresa sgusciarli), anche se il pezzo forte è stata l'orata ai ferri, davvero DIVINA, e il calamaro grigliato non era da meno. Abbiamo preso una minerale e due birre, il tutto per un totale di 65 € in due. Ma ciò che ha reso davvero speciale la serata è stata la compagnia dello staff (oltre che degli adorabili gatti); Gert, (e dopo anche Vasilis), si è seduto a bere con noi a fine cena, e siamo rimasti fino a tardi in sua compagnia, raccontandoci le nostre vite, i viaggi, esperienze e progetti. È stata una serata indimenticabile, e che ricorderemo a lungo, sperando di ripeterla prima di ripartire e in un prossimo futuro. Ogni viaggio dovrebbe essere fatto di questo, buon cibo, paesaggi incantevoli, scoperte, incontri e nuove amicizie. Grazie ragazzi di aver reso così speciale questo nostro primo ricordo di Karpathos, buona vita e a presto. E se passate da Napoli, fateci un fischio.

Aggiornamento 16.07.2024 Il nostro viaggio nella stupenda Karpathos poteva concludersi soltanto qui dov'era cominciato la prima sera. La nostra seconda cena è stata, come la prima, eccellente. Abbiamo preso la tartare di tonno che ci aveva consigliato Gert la prima sera, il polpo con le fave e la Sea Zone Salad (insalata con formaggio, bacon, mela e noci caramellate). Il tonno era uno dei migliori mai assaggiati (sempre Gert ci ha spiegato che si rifornisce da un pescatore che glielo porta fresco appena pescato), il polpo buonissimo e l'insalata una esplosione di sapori diversi. Il solo rimpianto, a parte dover ripartire il giorno dopo, è stato non aver provato i cocktail, ma sarà un altro pretesto per tornare. Anche la nostra ultima sera si è conclusa in compagnia dello staff, tra birre, cicchetti e risate, sperando di non esserci attardati troppo (siamo stati gli ultimi a lasciare il locale, ma non volevamo proprio andarcene).
