Taverna Sunset — Restaurant in Municipality of Kissamos

We walked along the promenade and found this gem a little further from all of the noise. The staff were so friendly which really made this place for us and we can say we’ve made friends and memories for life. We had some really good food and the portion sizes were very good (I’d already eaten some of the chips in the photo so don’t be put off by that) and the food was really tasty, especially the pork skewer. We came back again another night but this time just for a drink and we were the last ones in the taverna and it was so peaceful because of the great location. Prices were very cheap for the quality of food, and we liked the house white wine (we didn’t like a lot of wine in other places here). Definitely give this place a visit, and if you see this review, boing boing baggies! ;-)...

Someone recommended the place, but we didnt like it. Okey meat but boring stifado, the cats got the rest(they liked it very much). Pasta Bolognese should not be on the menu! Terrible taste. My daughter ate 2 spoons of it and she's been eating pasta Bolognese many other places in Greece. Never a bad one like this. We told the people working there that she didnt like it and asked wich meat it was inside.. pork..(?!) When I got the bill they'd charged me for the whole dish. I complained and told I didnt want to pay for it. It didnt even taste tomato and the owner told me Pasta Bolognese didnt have tomatoes in it 😂 omg.. They wanted 10 € for something she couldnt eat. After arguing I had payed 5 € for something she couldnt eat. Never again. Really bad service. They...

We visited Sunset twice. That is an obvious sign of approval. It was well above average but not consistent. Also, it sometimes looks like a high level fast food restaurant. They serve everything with potato fries. There should be other options.

Their gemista was very good. Other traditional Cretan dishes seemed very good as well. (no vine leave dolmadakia though)

There are pretty aggressive stray cats around tables. I dont mind cats but some do (like my wife) so you are warned.

Price-quality ratio is very good. House wine is okay buy we tasted better in nearby restaurants.

You may probably pay less than €50 for 2 main course, 2 salad/meze, bread, house wine.
