We visited this restaurant for a relaxed evening out and were initially impressed by the atmosphere. The interior is stylish and modern, and the view over the sea is truly beautiful. We made a reservation on the same day and, as expected, were seated indoors rather than on the terrace — but even inside, the ambiance was very pleasant and well-designed.
We ordered the “Chef’s Selection” from the sushi menu, which includes 32 pieces for €60. We were served four types of rolls with very little variation between them. Almost every piece was topped with mayonnaise and crispy onions, making them taste very similar. For something marketed as a chef’s selection, we were hoping for more diversity, subtlety, and balance in flavors.
One definite highlight of the evening was the cocktails — they were creative, well-balanced, and fairly priced. In contrast to the sushi, these felt worth their cost and added a nice touch to the evening.
Unfortunately, the service was the biggest letdown. We were greeted by two very elegant hostesses, which set high expectations for the rest of the night. However, the rest of the service felt chaotic and unstructured. There were plenty of staff on the floor, yet no one seemed to take ownership of our table. Water was served at the beginning but never refilled, and no one checked in with us during the meal. Most notably, at no point were we asked whether we wanted to order additional drinks, wine to go with the food, or even dessert afterwards. It felt as though once the food was served, the interaction stopped.
After receiving bread shortly after sitting down, we waited nearly 20 minutes for our cocktails — only for the sushi platter to arrive almost immediately after, before we’d even had a sip of our drinks. The pacing was rushed and uncoordinated, which took away from the overall enjoyment of the meal.
In summary, the restaurant offers a beautiful setting and decent food, but the lack of attention and care in service left us disappointed. With this price range and location, we expected a more...
Read moreIncredible location, totally worth it, just make sure you book a table in advance. Unfortunately, they follow a policy of limiting your occupancy of a table to a maximum of 90 minutes throughout which you are expected to order, eat, and leave. They aren't shy about it either, it is announced to you upon arrival.
After being seated, we welcomed the waiters' suggestion to provide us with a bottle of cold water. He quickly brought over a 750ml glass bottle of an Italian brand "Aqua Panna" of mineral water and served us. As we started going through the menu, we stumbled upon a 2nd option of a 1000ml Greek brand of mineral water bottle, which costs less. The waiter didn't bother to present us with the menu in advance so that we would have the luxury of a choice. I'm not sure if it was an honest mistake or a reflection of policy.
That said, i was surprised to come across an allergy towards issuing a receipt. Upon asking for the bill, i was presented with a prinout of the summary of our ordered dishes. After clearing the bill, i noticed the waiter being puzzled when i played dumb and kindly asked for a 2nd printout of our receipt, and i justified it by claiming that "the 1st one was probably blown away by the breeze when you came to get paid." He eventually presented me with the official receipt.
I am not in an way insinuating that there is an illegal intent in this tapestry of good service, however it just seemed strange to me at the moment.
My suggestion to you is to be vigilant, ask for the menu before ordering anything, and should you not get a receipt, then gently persist. As per Greek law 2523/1997, you are not obliged to pay for the services and products if a bill (not a summary of your ordered dishes & drinks) is not issued & presented to you. To facilitate with awareness, I am including a photo of what an official bill from this restaurant...
Read moreAlright, let’s start by saying that tiktok is right in that this place has some decent food and the setting is indeed really beautiful, from the seaside view to the appetizers, sushi and pastas, this restaurant (mostly) lives up to that hype. However, in my opinion, the service has started to reflect this tiktok-trendiness massively, allow me to take you through it:
When we arrived at the time we made a reservation, we were greeted nicely. However, only 20 seconds laid between this greeting and the first mention of apparently only having 1,5 hours allocated to dine (no prior mention), after which we could “continue at the bar”. I don’t really like eating on a time limit, especially this time since from ordering to receiving our appetizers, it took about 35 minutes. My suggestion: speed up service or extend these timeslots, we were barely able to finish before feeling obligated to leave. During this 1,5 hour period, (most of the) staff was short, unpersonal and really just seemed to be rushed in just about everything. My personal commendations go to one server, whose name I sadly did not catch, who was very proactive and friendly, thank you. However, when the time came to pay, there was rapid response. A payment device and check were (almost literally) slammed down in front of my nose, without a single word said. On it, the dreaded “I thought this only existed in America” tipping screen came up, with the lowest option being 10%, which was, after the service disasterclass I’d witnessed, too generous in my opinion. There was an option to select a custom tip of course, but this really rubbed me the wrong way, as the 10% “psychological minimum” is just ridiculous. After this, we left in silence, as all staff (except the lady at the door) ignored us. Again though, special thanks to the aforementioned nice server, as he came after us especially with a...
