Akrogiali Taverna — Restaurant in Municipality of Kos

Store your luggage with free sunbeds and great food! Thank goodness for Akrogiali! We decided to take the bus from Kos Town to Mastihari five hours before our flight out of Kos airport. We had our luggage with us and the young man at Akrogiali told us he would "keep our luggage safe and we could use the free sunbeds with umbrella right there on the beach" and then they would call a taxi for us 30 minutes before we were ready to depart! The food was delicious! They even have vegan moussakka and a fresh fruit salad on ice cream with apples and kiwi! The fried eggplant and Greek salad were so good the cocktails are reasonably priced. The free sunbeds are very comfortable and they called the taxi for us in plenty of time for us to take the 17 Euro, 12 minute ride to the Kos airport. The staff at Akrogiali as well as the owner are so lovely and it was a great way to spend our last afternoon (with luggage) in Kos!...

Despite saying we wouldn't I back again after a shocking experience last year we did go in last night. Restaurant was packed.We though great.. My wife chose the pork steak and I went for a souvlaki when my first choice was unavailable... The Souvlaki was pretty good but when my wife received her pork steak she just looked at me and simply said she couldn't face what she had been given.The steak was massive..She tried to cut into it and failed I asked a waiter for a sharper knife..That never turned up..I ended up swapping my chicken for the steak..I also couldn't cut into it so I simply picked it up and gnawed the meat off the bones.Whilst it tasted great t was very messy to eat. The young male waiter was clearly out of his depth with the volume of diner's.

Akrogiali Taverna offers an amazing dining experience with stunning beach views. The service was fantastic, with the staff providing excellent meal recommendations. I tried the semi-dried and grilled octopus for the first time, and it was delightful – a must-try for anyone who enjoys local cuisine. We also ordered a meat platter meant for four people, which was quite generous and could easily satisfy a group of adult males. The fresh salad was gorgeous and complemented the meal perfectly. While the Aperol was decent, it didn’t quite meet my usual standards. Overall, the location and atmosphere were incredible. I will definitely visit again to try their...
