Faros Restaurant — Restaurant in Municipality of Kos

We visited Saturday night and sat down at about 9.30 which isn't late at all for Kardamina. Sadly the restaurant was rather empty, in fact there were only 2 other tables in. We are here on holiday, 4 adult children plus Jo and myself. Veggy food for me was very limited, in fact the waitress did laugh a bit when I asked. The food is ok. Jo said her Sardines were good and a bowl of muscles were also said to be ok. Over cooked chicken in pasta, pizza really over cooked and I had to settle for greek salad, pitta and dips plus some chips. I know they do risotto and a veggy pizza, but I am on a Greek island, not Italy. I wanted something authentic. The service just wasn't there as they were so quiet. In all my visits around the world I have rarely had a completely bad meal. Yes I know, if your not happy you should leave it, or complain on the day, but all we wanted to do was finish and leave. Restaurant was supposedly recommended by Thomas Cook??? The place had no atmosphere, service was slow and the food was awful. My wife ordered Swordfish which came with a plate of chopped vegetables and potatoes that looked like they would be better in a casserole. The Swordfish steak was overcooked and dry as a bone with a splash of olive oil on top. My lamb ribs were actually cutlets served with chunky tomatoes and cucumber and a handful of chips. The cutlets were also overcooked and dry, and very salty. In comparison to other meals we have had on Kos this has to be the worst, and avoided...

We decided to eat here on our last night in kos, it looked empty which was concerning but then it was pretty late, there were 7 of us in total and throughout our holiday wherever we'd eat, at least 1 or 2 of us had had something to say about the food (rice was hard, meat was under cooked, cold, blah blah blah) but this was the only restaurant where nobody had anything bad to say, the food was amazing, the waitress was very lovely and adhered to all our needs, she spoke very good English and was actually quite funny, the price was rediculously cheap too compared to previous restaurants we'd eaten at, the meals are also very big and filling, I highly recommend this restaurant, and if I ever visit kos again I will be eating here...
