Our night started off perfectly, such a peaceful ambience is experienced here…(providing all goes well). The restaurant decor and surrounding views were stunning, and the service from the waiter/waitress was excellent. However, it all went downhill when the food arrived.
We ordered the beef pappardelle (special), and a medium-rare Rib-eye steak, which all seemed great until we cut into it. The steak was extremely fatty and tough, 3/4 of which was not only difficult to cut with a steak knife, but was literally inedible. The beef from the pasta was far more tender, but was almost covered in jelly-like fat. The pasta sauce had the consistency of soup, and this dish was also not very flavourful - not so ‘special’ after all.
When the waitress came to collect our not so empty plates, she immediately asked what the problem was. As two individuals who hate to complain, we politely mentioned that the steak was far too fatty and so that it was not possible to eat it. Nothing was mentioned (on either end) about the half full plate of beef pasta. Still unsure as to why they bothered to ask what the issue was, however, as there was no inclination to solve it. We did not get offered any option for a new cut of steak, and we also did not get any money taken off the bill. When we later enquired about taking some money off, since most of it was inedible, we were met with an angry and arrogant response from the restaurant owner, who was waving around a slab of raw meat and denying it being too fatty. He was completely inappropriate and caused a scene in front of the restaurant, making us feel very uncomfortable. Although we were disappointed, embarrassed and still hungry… we had to pay the full €60 and leave to avoid further confrontation.
My advice would therefore be to avoid. After reading other reviews it seems the food can be very hit or miss, and you definitely don’t want to risk being at the brunt of a bad experience here or risk having raw meat waved in your face to make a point. Very...
Read moreHorrendous service. I came here in July and was excited because I had heard good things online, and it was a very pretty place, albeit out of the way from Kos town. A confused waiter seated us and assured us we would be able to get a sunlounger on the beach. We were sat for approximately 5 mins before being given menus. We were then ignored for 20 minutes whilst other tables were being served, with multiple members of staff walking past our table. I was appalled by the prices, with a litre of still water being 4€, smoothies being 7€, 300ml of Mythos draft beer being 6€ and cocktails €18!!!! An unsmiling, judgmental waitress took our order finally. We ordered the Chicken Club sandwich and the avocado and salmon puccia (12€) and after a half an hour wait the food arrived. The chicken club was very nice (14€) and came with chips, the bread the puccia came in was very crackly but the sandwich itself was decent, and was served with a rocket salad with some balsamic glaze. I would expect more for the high price. I got a freddo cappucino, which was bitter but nice (€5) and we got two desperados for (7€) each. After finishing eating we had to further wait around to pay for 40 minutes, and flagging down multiple waiters we were finally told we pay at the bar, although we weren’t told that initially and other tables paid at their table. Multiple other tables were clearly upset with their treatment too. We were also told that all the sun loungers were now also taken so we couldn’t even go on them, which was part of the reason we came here. Also loud house music being played the whole time. There are many better, cheaper options, don’t waste your time and money here. It is not...
Read morei honestly think this place is deleting all of the bad reviews and keeping the good ones because we visited last week and the service and food was so horrendous we left after an hour. when we arrived we werent greeted by any of the staff (who were sitting around the bar in a corner), so we sat ourselves on stools at the bar. ordered a couple of drinks and went to ask for table, to which we were very abruptly told there were none available at that time (which we were fine with, it was the tone and attitude in which it was delivered to us which was what was inappropriate). a bit later asked another waiter who was significantly more helpful than the first guy we asked and took us over to a table. we ordered 2 vegan sandwiches (which were mediocre at best anyway - i wouldn't come here if you’re hungry and want good food) - and then we found a bit of chicken in one of them. we stopped eating them at that point and told another waiter about it to which he replied “well youve eaten it so what do you want me to do”. we then explained that we’d only found the bit of chicken in the sandwich at that point (generally when you order something you dont investigate it prior to eating it, and its more so a case of trust) and he (again!) replied with “well youve eaten it so whatd you want?!”. at this point we’d pretty much had enough of this place so packed up and left. its a very instagrammable venue and has potential to be great. some of the staff let this place down which is a real shame. id say look into other beach bars if youre visiting kos - everywhere else we went the service was exceptional so highly recommend...
