Top points - We stayed in a Swim Up Room in the New Cosmopolitan Breeze area) newly built last year( Lovely spacious Room and very Comfortable beds.Maid service Great for the first 3 days then we noticed a lack of care on the 4th day ( we are tidy travellers anyways) but our beds were not changed and the in room glasses / cups were not cleaned or changed for fresh clean ones and the floors didn’t see a sweep of the floor all week. (no care given I had to ask the maids to enter our room on one day as they had completely missed off our room for a general change of towels etc ) |Pool area was clean and quiet no struggle to get a Sun-bed ( our room had 2 on our terrace but they were very uncomfortable |Our board was Breakfast & Evening Meal ( Half-board) |Never have I had such a bad experience with Food than in this Hotel. |Breakfast - limited selection- Stale bread Cold Eggs ( on one of our mornings there wasn’t any Eggs due to the hot plate being Broken |Coffee machine too was broken one of our mornings leaving a very large full hotel with 1 working Hot drink machine ( as you can imagine this caused large Queues of unhappy people needing there morning coffee |1 staff member working to fill up and refresh every dish meaning long waits for fresh food to be served out ( always Cold) inedible |Just opted for coffee then went to eat out |Evening Meal - AVOID at all cost! If you like cheesy chips ( cold) dry pork or chicken rotted vegetables these were the only options on the warm hot plates it looked like the food had been sat there for weeks (never seen such grim food in a hotel ) staff looked like they needed to clean there uniforms very unprofessional |Lots of other guests also raised their concerns over the poor food Quality |Walk or hire bikes outside the hotel 10€ for a day for 2 and head into Kos town for decent meals you will be ready for the perfect meal |Bus stop outside of the hotel which charges 2€ to the centre of Kos Town |Staff - pleasant couple running the pool Bar |However the Lady on Reception is Rude and unhelpful. The Hotel has a scheme going on where they put travellers into rooms underneath the pool area with tiny windows and no outside space and old un renovated rooms to which travellers complain and then they are told if they need to move rooms it will cost them £1000 for an upgrade ( quite a few holiday couples had had this happen to them while being there which is absolutely ridiculous. It’s definitely a scam to get money from there guest ( as Extra ) so wrong this needs investigating |Also the Greek Tax is 70€ and we wanted to pay this on card to which the Lady on reception demanded we pay € and told us to go over the road and drawer money out of the cash machine!!! I told her No and that we had always paid the Tax with Card . She got very angry and started to call us names in Greek to a cleaner at the reception desk stood there at the time ( unbeknown to the reception desk lady ..I speak Greek so you should be very ashamed of your manner! She then would not deal with us once we had paid the tax and we asked for a room to shower in on our last day which she did not organise for us |The last day they gave us a cleaners Mop room to get changed in which was dirty / full of mould and smelt like a dirty toilet |ABSOLUTELY DREADFUL EXPERIENCE!!! I will attach my photos to show what we had to incur |All in all we still had an Amazing time on kos but Will NEVER Forget or Ever Return to this Horrendous Hotel |It should be 1+ not 4 |Sort it out Management you should be ashamed of your...
Read moreI booked a stay at the Cosmopolitan Hotel through TUI’s website. Unfortunately, the room photo shown with my booking was completely misleading. After checking in, we were taken to our room. The moment we opened the door, we were speechless. It was a huge shock for us. We had never seen anything so awful before.
The room was so small that the entrance door couldn’t even open fully because the bed was blocking it. The smell from the sewage system was unbearable. Moving around the room was extremely difficult due to steps in two different places. The ceiling was very low, and the bathroom was even lower—about 190 cm high. With my height, I couldn’t even take a shower properly.
There was no wardrobe at all—only some old overhead cupboards and storage spaces that smelled like old mold. The cabinets had an unpleasant, musty odor. There was no hairdryer, even though it was listed as included. The bathroom had no main light—only a small, dim lamp above the mirror. The cleanliness was shocking, especially in the bathroom, with unwashed urine stains on the trash bin. There were stains on the bedspread and an old, smelly shower curtain.
When I reported the problem to reception, the staff member admitted that they had never seen a room in their hotel that looked like the one in my booking photo. I also spoke on the phone with the hotel manager, Maria, who said there were no available rooms and we would have to wait until morning. The night in that room was a nightmare.
The next day, after a sleepless night, Maria showed us two rooms and asked us to choose one. She clearly stated that we were being given an upgraded room. In my opinion, both new rooms were no better than the first. The only difference was a little more space and no steps inside. There was still an unpleasant sewage smell, a leaking air conditioner, a smelly shower curtain, a broken inner and outer window blind.
I had booked Half Board, and I deeply regret it. For the first time in my life, breakfast was exactly the same every single day. The cheapest products possible—cheap luncheon meat, melting processed cheese slices, fried eggs with raw egg whites. After the third day, I only went to the dining room for coffee. The food presentation looked like it was prepared for a dog. It was dirty, with no air conditioning or fans in the dining area. The food was not labeled or marked at all.
The dinners were just as poor. I didn’t eat a single fish during the entire stay—because there wasn’t any. The same fruits every day, badly cut and badly served. The watermelon was often fermented. No ice cream.
Right next to the hotel, there’s a farm with roosters crowing—every morning at 4 a.m. you get a wake-up call whether you want it or not.
This hotel is absolutely not a 4-star hotel. I do not recommend it and strongly...

Upon arrival we were taken to a room under the swimming pool with no terrace and no double bed. Instead a table and chairs on the hotel path and two single beds pushed together with separate bedding. The bathroom wasn’t as advertised either in the photos. It wasn’t a proper shower - instead a basin with a shower curtain. The facilities also advertised wifi but this did not reach our room so we had to use a lot of data throughout the week. Unfortunately, there were also genital hairs in our bed when we arrived. As we arrived late at night and wouldn’t be spending much time in our room we decided to put up with it. Unfortunately, as the room was under the pool it was very noisy. Sun loungers were being dragged around at 6:30am above our heads and we’d hear lots of banging. Another thing we were disappointed with is that we were told we couldn’t opt out of housekeeping coming every morning. As one of us has a chronic illness that affects our sleep, having a lie in is very important. We went to reception to ask for a do not disturb sign and were told there was one in our room with a green lady on one side and a red on the other. Upon checking again we still couldn’t find one. We returned to reception and were greeted by a different receptionist and asked for one. Before answering she asked us what room we were in to which we were told ‘no we don’t do them you have to have housekeeping come each day’. The fact she had to ask what room we were in before giving the answer of no, makes us think we were treated differently because we were in one of the cheaper rooms. Especially as the previous receptionist said they exist and even described what it looks like. Although we were in a ‘cheaper’ room the holiday was still very expensive compared to other greek islands holidays we’ve been on and those rooms were so much nicer. The 4 star rating of this hotel wasn’t reflected and i’d give it 3 stars overall but our room 2. The buffet food was okay but nothing special and not up to a 4 star standard. It was quite repetitive and there wasn’t any variety, just cheaper options like chicken wings, pork etc. The saving grace of the holiday was the pool and the bar staff. Both the staff at both bars on site were really friendly and attentive. Also, all the tui reps throughout our stay were great. Overall, it didn’t ruin our holiday but I would book with someone else next time and not return...
