NAZAR MEZE RESTAURANT — Restaurant in Municipality of Kos

OK, let’s be brutally honest. We had a great experience last night when it wasn’t busy. One of the ‘men in charge’ looked after us with a nice table on the terrace. We ordered a Greek salad with fried anchovies, bread and 500ml of dry house wine (merlot). Delicious to say the least. So good in fact we booked again for tonight. Unfortunately, things couldn’t have been more different. The place was packed although we still got the same table. Thank you. This time we had a cocktail and a starter (dolmades) which were ok. Then it all went downhill. The wait staff seemed to disappear (there simply aren’t enough of them when it’s busy) but we managed to order a 500ml carafe of the ‘same’ dry red we’d had the night before. No such luck. It was like vinegar and undrinkable. To be fair, the female waiter explained there must have been a mistake and happily exchanged it for the real house red we’d had the night before. Thank you again. At that point we ordered our mains of bread, Greek salad, grilled calamari and garlic prawns to share. We were informed that it wouldn’t all arrive at once and that it was unreasonable to expect that, which we begrudgingly accepted but couldn’t quite understand why. The salad and bread arrived within 10 mins which was great but after another 45 mins of nothing, we’d lost our appetite, along with other people around us and just wanted to pay up and leave. Unfortunately, the same female waiter made it extremely uncomfortable when I was trying to pay the bill at that point, being so defensive and blaming it all on me for not ordering properly. Oh really? It was ridiculous to say the least. Anyway, I hope you have a better experience than we did tonight. The food is actually quite good but don’t hold your breath...

We had an amazing time at Nazar Meze Restaurant! The food was absolutely delicious – fresh, full of flavor, and beautifully presented. We tried several dishes, including grilled seafood, bruschetta-style starters, and everything was spot on.

What made the experience even better was the incredibly friendly and welcoming staff – they really made us feel at home and took great care of us. You can tell they love what they do.
