Gorilla's Company — Restaurant in Municipality of Nafplio

We’ve visited this place several times during previous trips to Tolo and were genuinely happy to return this year. The setting is still lovely and you’ve created a great atmosphere, but unfortunately the service this time was a major letdown.

Despite walking into an almost empty restaurant, we waited 45 minutes for a simple crepe that never arrived. I calmly said I no longer wanted it and just asked to pay for our drinks so we could leave. I wasn’t upset and didn’t blame anyone, I simply didn’t want to wait any longer.

Unfortunately, the waiter handled the situation poorly. Instead of offering an apology, he insisted that I “hear his excuses before deciding to leave” as if I was the problem. When I made it clear I didn’t want explanations, I was met with raised tones, defensiveness, and what honestly felt like gaslighting. He claimed they were overwhelmed with orders, even though there were only three other customers and admitted they had messed up the order. That’s not the customers’ fault. They wasted my valuable time and kept insisting that I accept an order that wasn't even on my table.

For the record, this experience has been documented in case there's any attempt to say the restaurant was full. It wasn’t. It was a frustrating and disappointing experience that wasted our time and left a bad impression.

I get the sense that tourists are seen more as transactions than guests here, which is a shame. We were more than willing to keep coming back, but this kind of treatment doesn’t reflect the professionalism we've experienced at other restaurants in Tolo.

Also, we found the wine terrible and tasted like it had been unsealed for longer than if should have been. Too bad there are no bottle options. The price is 6 euro for a glass...

We were with a group of 20-30 people. Suddenly we were sent out for no reason for 20 min. After that, we were obligated to pay for a drink if we wanted to go back inside. Then they were guarding the gates and we had to show our drink every time we went out of the inside hall. They also were looking very mad if we wanted to go outside of the hall inside. If we went outside anyway and our drink was empty we had to buy a new drink otherwise we weren't allowed to go...

Excellent view and sea side. food was moderate in quality. Coffee was ok. Orange juice was so and so. We were the only table with people when suddenly the barman during a hot afternoon turned the only available fan towards him. Music could be much improved too! Best way to waste your only...
