We arrived in Naxos a bit bedraggled, and I violated one of my travel rules about grabbing a meal at the first place we saw close to a port/town square/tourist attraction. But Diogenes Cafe, for all its excellent location and well-priced cocktails is so much more than meets the eye. First, not only the best pizza on Naxos, but one that nearly brought tears to my eyes as it recalled the pizza of my New York childhood (hard to find anything close to it in the States, even in NYC!) But what won our hearts was the staff. Denisa, who served us breakfast one morning, greeted us by name on our next visit, several days later. Dimitri, when I asked if we could get a pizza for take-away, responded, "Anything for you, my friend!" without a bit of irony. Read moreHave just left this place and had to write a review straight away. Happy hour was on. We sat down and ordered a drink. The person who took our order was a cocky and smart talking non Greek who seemed offended when I asked him if he was Greek. He then carried on about the 4 languages he could speak! Someone else bought our drinks and he was also a smarty pants when I asked him when does happy hour finish and he said it depended but on whst he didn't say. I don't believe it does finish. We walked off and my husband did say that he was angry at the lack of service. Would not go back. Staff are awful and service slow after the...

We went back later that night after we sat our selves we stood up to move seats as a server was cleaning the table, making sure we had all our belongings we noticed my sunglasses had disappeared off the table. We asked all three servers for them before the short dark haired guy that had been oh so friendly before shouted at us claiming we had lost them when really the server had stolen them off the table… it was really jarring to see the change in...
