What a beautiful surprise!
We found this spot thanks to a local, Sofia, our host during a wine event, who knows the island like no one else. She told us we were going to find some amazing wine options and she was right! This little spot turned out to be one of our favourite parts of Naxos we’ve visited so far. Perched right beside one of the main gates to the historic Venetian castle — it offers not only stunning sunset views but also a quiet sense of timelessness. We have been coming to Naxos for 5 years now - and funny enough, no one had ever mentioned the history or significance of that gate and spot. It’s a reminder that sometimes, it takes a local who truly cares to reveal the soul of a place. (Do yourself a favour and ask sb about the history of the surrounding area, you’ll be amazed!!!) The sunset view is absolutely magical, definitely a must!! Food was excellent, with a short and thoughtful menu — something we always appreciate. Fewer choices, done with intention and care, can say more than a hundred options. Every dish we tried felt considered, with clean, bold flavours!! The service was welcoming and polite, though perhaps still finding its rhythm. I’m telling you, this place feels like it’s straight out of a fairytale
If you’re looking for a place to slow down, sip something good, and take in a moment that feels real — this is it. No crowds, not touristy, gives you a feel of exclusiveness. We’re so glad we followed that recommendation. We’ll probably be coming back again...
Read moreThis place is absolutely fantastic. It seems UNREAL Our host from the house we booked for our stay recommended it to us from the very beginning of the check in as something we had to experience. Not only did we follow her advice, but we actually ended up going there with her for dinner.
The view is simply magical. You don’t know where to look first — the beautifully lit castle, the little path leading up to the entrance, the harbor and the sea, or the charming walkways winding through the lower part of the old town. It’s honestly like a dream. We ordered almost the entire menu, and not a single dish let us down. Just as our host suggested, we went for a true Greek family-style dinner — everything in the middle, everyone tasting a bit of everything. The flavors were exceptional. The tuna tataki was hands down the best I’ve ever had. The cocktails were also excellent, and the wine list was spot on — with local Naxian wines that you don’t easily come across elsewhere. We were lucky to have a local with us who shared the history of the place and helped guide us through the menu and wine choices.

Read moreWow wow wow! This place is special. Our Airbnb host, Sofia, told us we must not miss it – and she was absolutely right. Now we say the same to you: don’t miss this place.
Sofia also suggested booking in advance, since the focus here is on quality, not quantity – and that really impressed us. Compared to the noisy, crowded restaurants in the center, this place feels calm and thoughtful. Even though we didn’t have a reservation and came as a big group, the staff quickly found us a table and were super helpful.
The location is amazing – full view of the port, the town, and even the entrance to the Venetian castle. Very scenic and peaceful. The food is not touristy-traditional, but deeply local and fresh. You can taste the difference. Big compliments to the kitchen!
Ask about the off-menu wines – Naxos has some surprising gems.
