TAVERNA KASTRO — Restaurant in Municipality of Naxos and the Lesser Cyclades

Got a table about 8pm before it got really busy. Nice location. Staff were decent enough but I suspect like most of these busy places, running about mad. Not the cheapest, and food arrived staggered time wise. One child had her meal very quickly, Other child got half her meal (overpriced 8euro chips) and then good half hour before her pie came out. After over an hour of waiting, neither adult meal had appeared, so we had to eventually grab a waiter. They'd clearly forgotten our meals, and they arrived ten mins later (both were pasta dishes). I realise these things happen, but it's bit of a pain when you've still got to get a bus with kids. When food turned up, both pasta dishes were nice. No apologies for late meals, no ouso etc at end, wouldn't rush back...

The service was really sad. We’re experienced for street and fine dining and there is not really single thing that worked well. Service is not under control even if the boss is sitting there and eating hes own bread the whole over one and half an hour dinner. The employees don’t know what to do and everybody are doing their own thing.

We had to wait for over ten minutes to get ordered the food. Our drinks was way too late also. Food was solid but bulk tourism stuff that I would not recommend to anyone. And after all that we had to sorry one table next to us that came to the restaurant before us because they didnt get any service or main food before we had all done.

There must happen big things if they get us to recommend this...

I went there two days ago and i have to say that the girl in the reception (Christina i think it was her name) she is one of the friendliest and sweetest persons ever. She was very helpful she explains us all the plates and she help us a lot with recommendations about the island. She make the whole experience much more better. The food was amazing!! The quality and the portion was perfect!!! The atmosphere and the view it was incredible!! My server Giannis was very helpful as well and he made really great jokes that made the atmosphere very delightful!! Everything was perfect!! P.S.
