Mylos Koufonisia — Restaurant in Municipality of Naxos and the Lesser Cyclades

First night we went they were just opening for the season. Limited options but quick and friendly service. The shop owner was very friendly.

The second time we went, we wanted to escape the sun and grab a quick drink and bite before leaving on the ferry. We got the menu QR quickly, but waited another 15-20’ before being acknowledged despite attempts to get the staffs attention. It was not very busy, the waiter was mostly on his phone any time I looked over. The couple next to us, also looking for something quick before entering the ferry had less patience after 20 minutes and left. Our drinks came out, they took the order wrong. It was quickly resolved. When asked how everything was I explained we had to wait for some time to be acknowledged, I was assured we had only waited 5 minutes. We were on a tight schedule watching the clock. It for sure was not 5 minutes.

The waitress bringing food, and cleaning up tables was very friendly and working hard.

This bar-restaurant sits probably on the island’s best location so it’s a must for panoramic pictures of the island. It’s a shame the bar service is so slow and the staff even fight in front of the customers! We were lulled in by the views on our first night and ordered 2 Mastiha for 8 Euros each. The drinks themselves were good, if on the small side. When we came to pay the waitress first told us 16 Euros then changed to 18 Euros. I queried this, telling her the drinks cost 8 according to the menu. Her answer? They are old menus, the price has gone up. Totally unacceptable. If this bar charges every guest 1 Euro more per drink than listed then they are making a nice profit.
