Σουβλάκι Στη Στροφή — Restaurant in Municipality of Naxos and the Lesser Cyclades

We travelled from Switzerland and we did not have any EUR in cash. So we asked to pay by card. Initially they complained, but since there was no other option they finally accepted it. Afterwards, a staff from the store came out to the dinning area and was complaining in front of us because we asked to pay by card. The staff was very rude and they made us feel quite uncomfortable. Some minutes later another friend of ours ordered a souvlaki and they told him that they had switched off the so called “POS”, i.e., the machine for card payments, and they needed necessarily cash. He explained to them that we had paid by card just 2 min ago, but they replied they cannot accept card payments any more. Please note that they did not mention that the POS was not working. They just mentioned that they had switched off the machine. The next day they put a label on the store saying “POS is not working”.

Ταξιδέψαμε από την Ελβετία και λόγω διαφορετικού συναλλάγματος δεν είχαμε καθόλου μετρητά μαζί μας σε ευρώ. Όποτε ζητήσαμε να πληρώσουμε την παραγγελία με κάρτα. Αρχικά παραπονέθηκαν έντονα και προσπάθησαν να μας μεταπείσουν αλλά τελικά το δέχθηκαν αφού δεν υπήρχε άλλος τρόπος πληρωμής. Εν συνεχεία, ένας υπάλληλος από το μαγαζί βγήκε έξω στο χώρο που ήταν τα τραπεζάκια και άρχισε να παραπονιέται μπροστά μας που ζητήσαμε να πληρώσουμε με κάρτα. Φώναζε δυνατά και ήταν πολύ αγενής και μας έκανε να νιώσουμε πολύ άβολα. 2 λεπτά αργότερα ένας φίλος από την παρέα μας ήρθε και ήθελε να παραγγείλει και αυτός και ζήτησε επίσης να πληρώσει με κάρτα. Και του είπαν ότι έκλεισαν το POS και δεν μπορούν να δεχθούν πια πληρωμή με κάρτα. Τους εξηγήσαμε ότι πριν 2 λεπτά είχαμε πληρώσει με κάρτα και είπαν ότι δεν δέχονται πλέον πληρωμές μέσω POS. Επισημαίνω ότι δεν μας είπαν ότι χάλασε το POS αλλά απλά ότι το έκλεισαν για την μετά εκείνη. Την επόμενη ημέρα ανήρτησαν μια ταμπέλα στο ταμείο που έλεγε «το POS δεν λειτουργεί προσωρινά». Τα...

Parto dicendo che se non avete voglia di ATTENDERE NON È POSTO PER VOI!! Il posto è davvero una finestrella di fatti si chiama esattamente così in italiano, una piccola finestrella affacciata su strada dove serve SUPER DELIZIE di casa GRECA!!

Ti metti in fila ed è davvero interminabile l’attesa ma ne varrà realmente la pena ? SI RAGAZZI FATE LA FILA PERCHÈ ASSAGGERETE LA MIGLIOR PITA DELLA VOSTRA VITA!

Ho atteso 90min esatto, 90! Per mangiare questa meraviglia ed una volta arrivato a questo punto mi pareva opportuno prendere quasi tutto il menu di fatti abbiamo assaggiato io e la mia morosa 4 pita diverse, una con il famosissimo gyros ovvero carne di maiale, una con il kebab ovvero 4 carni diverse, una con salsiccia sempre maiale, una di souvlaki ovvero spiedini di pecora;

Ogni pita è condita a tuo piacere ed i condimenti sono uguali, questa per me è una pecca perché ognuno dovrebbe avere dei sapori abbinati in maniera diversa però la qualità percepita è davvero alto fast food!! Come condimento ti propongono le patatine, la zatziki, cipolle rosse crude e pomodoro!

Ingredienti da fast food dunque non vi aspettate la stella Michelin, però nel complesso davvero buono! La cosa da valutare è la carne e la pita (pane) non il resto;

La cosa davvero non piaciuta sono state le patatine fritte, precotte e nemmeno ripassate dunque trovavi le patatine molli, fredde e zuppe d’olio, da non prendere sicuramente a parte;

Menu un po’ confusionale perché non c’è una separazione tra greco e inglese ma mixato e dunque non molto comprensibile per uno straniero;

Prezzi davvero onesti contando che ti trovi su di un’isola delle Cicladi, pita a 4€ e bibite dai 0.50 per acqua sino ai 3€ per birra e vino;

Alla griglia vedrete il figlio e il padre, mentre alla cassa una magnifica donna sopra età che prende ordinazione e si occupa della cassa!!

Esperienza da 10, ritornerò sicuramente ed ovviamente super...

We had to wait one hour and a half for a pita. I would suggest you to go either very early in the evening, such as 19.30/20.30, or to go for a late dinner after 22.00.

It is managed by a family. It is nice to see how they collaborate and they are very calm doing their job. The menu can be read right in front of their little window and this makes it very characteristic. We enjoyed to eat our kebab right in the middle of the Chora in Koufonissi in a very simple table.

I would definitely suggest it for a night after a long day at the beach for a quick dinner. The prices are also...
