Maria's Seaside Taverna — Restaurant in Municipality of Northern Corfu

We chose this restaurant over others because of the good reviews about its food. We ordered tzatziki, garlic bread, a gyro, a Greek salad, moussaka, and grilled squid. For drinks, we had the house wine.

Regarding the service: the wine was brought out first, fairly quickly. The wine was pleasant and light. However, we then had to wait quite a long time for everything else, and it was all brought out at once! Not the salad and tzatziki first, but all the dishes simultaneously!

The salad was tasty with fresh ingredients. The gyro was okay but not great; it wasn't juicy. The meat was somewhat dry and looked a bit tired. The biggest disappointment was the moussaka. It felt like it was leftovers from yesterday. There was a very thick top layer, very little eggplant—just a very thin layer—a small amount of meat, and the potato at the bottom was terribly bland!

The squid, however, was excellent! Very tasty, quite tender, and with a wonderful filling of feta and pepper. I can also praise the tzatziki; it was one of the best I've had in Greece!

At the end, the waiter brought a complimentary limoncello, and he also gave one to my underage daughter automatically, without thinking. The price isn't high, but it's not low either; we paid 80 euros for everything.

The atmosphere was pleasant, the view was beautiful, but the food was hit-or-miss. The service was generally okay; if they consider the feedback and work on it, it could be excellent. I don't feel the desire to return a second time, although if I ever crave tzatziki, I would only...

We had two gyros and the chicken was very hard. The stufato, basically came with two small pieces of meat and all the rest was onion and red sauce. Fantasztikus taverna, remek kiszolgálás! Van egy magyar hölgy is a felszolgálók között, Anita, így aki nem beszél jól idegen nyelvet, is remekül tud boldogulni. Az ételek nagyon finomak, többször is étkeztünk ott, sok mindent végigkóstoltunk, mindig tökéletes volt. A gyros nekem itt volt a legfinomabb. Ha a képen kevésnek is tűnik az adag valakinek, hát nem volt az. Mindenre van náluk megoldás, még arra is, hogy egy nap alatt leszervezzenek egy születésnapi meglepetés vacsorát. Rendeltek tortát, (nem bolti kész tortát, hanem cukrászdából a szomszéd faluból) teljesen korrekt áron, ami még finom is volt. Mire mentünk, minden ott volt, előkészítve.
