Marias Snack Shack — Restaurant in Municipality of Northern Corfu

We were hungry so we looked up reviews and saw that Maria's Snack Shack had 4.7 Stars. We ordered our food and watched them make it because we are very observant when people make our food. We noticed that the three ladies including Maria herself we're constantly nibbling on food, putting their hair back with their fingers, wiping their sweat on their head with their hands, and wiping their nose with their fingers. They never once washed their hands and they constantly touch the food after touching their head, hair, nose and mouth. I must say I write reviews almost everywhere I go. This place was absolutely disgusting. I literally threw my gyro in the water and so did my son. We each took a bite of the meat and it was very dry and did not taste like an authentic gyro at all. The meat was not freshly cut as it was prepackaged meat. How they have 4.7 Stars absolutely blows my mind away as it should be 2.5 at the most. I would not eat here if I was starving. I'm very disappointed. I'm also very disgusted that the fact that some people have no audacity to wash their hands after grabbing their nose, mouth, hair or sweat on their forehead. If anything they should use the back of their forearm. I also wanted to mention that we got four Gyros, three sides of french fries and two ice creams that cost us 63 Euros which I thought was pretty expensive. I would definitely try other places and...

This place was fine as we got served by the waiter called Stavros, and he made our lunch there very comfortable. Frozen kebab as well as frozen burgers are offered in this fast-food bar, but considering that we were very hungry, we didn't hesitate to devour our food no matter what. The problem occurred when my girlfriend and I were on the way out of the bar. The owner Maria started discriminating against my girlfriend and said that she should put more clothes on her even though she was wearing a bikini next to the beach. Many female guests there were having bikinis in the past few days as we were walking by. Long story short, I asked her how come is not a problem that I was in a swimming trunks, almost naked, as is the guy who was sitting next to her at the table. She just answered that it is not a problem but she is a problem. Instead of coming and making a comment only to us, she was showing authority and saying that loud enough, so the whole bar and all the guests could hear what was going on. Such unnecessary comment to be made as there is no dress code policy on the entrance, and none of the waiters told us previously. Otherwise we wouldn't come there and spend any money. After a stroll from the other side of the beach we ended up at this snack bar. We were looking for a pita gyros because it was our last day and we wanted to end the proper greek way haha! The service was good and we got a table in the shade. The prices are a bit higher than you might used to but the food makes up for that. My dad had a pita gyros and I ordered a veggie pita. Honestly the best veggie pita I ever had. Everything was so fresh and it was loaded with vegetables. The perfect amount of sauce and feta and the pita was perfectly toasted on both sides.
