Well.... one evening my girlfriend took me for a walk. To show me a street where long time ago the ,,cabarets,, was. If You like a bit noire climate that's the place in Piraeus. Everything is close now , for long time, but walking through the street use Your imagination. After 10 mins from the main road, apparently from nowhere, a tavern appeared. Many people siting by the table outside. I've been shocked. In THAT place????? No sea view, just old abandoned buildings around. Well, we've been sited by a very old fashioned (Greek way) polite and friendly waiter. Of course we get the water straight away, and the menu. I've decided, my girlfriend will choose. And then...... All the dishes came almost at same time. We tried mushrooms first. They've just great Then pork steaks , salad , bread , wine , and goat kebab. Even potatoes tasted like at home , mean Greek tavern witch i remember from 20 years ago. The food is the masterpiece. I can't describe it like, yeah good food, nice service, affordable price's. But no. This place has the magic of real Greek tavern, not like restaurant for 200 people. Cosy , calming. It was like someone invited us to his home for supper. Every dish alone was a Michelin star, but at the same time , we've been moved back in time. This place is a real PEARL . It has food which make You feel the real Greece. I've had the pleasure and privilege to meet the lovely lady who's cooked for us. Absolutely wonderful person. I don't really now what else to say , but , when You visiting Piraeus, this place is ,,must see,, and eat of course . Don't want to be unfair to the other places we regularly visiting, this one is just what I've been looking for. We're definitely going to eat there again. And again, and again. Short; Lovely people Heavenly tasty food That's what You call ambrosia... It was our ,,first time,, there . But wait up for...
Read moreAn awful experience. We are currently staying in Athens and had a lovely meal here on our first night.... that's what merits the one star. We decided to go back last night. If it were possible to give zero stars we would. Yes it was a holiday, yes we were late, but my husband went in to ask if it was ok to sit down and got shouted at by the waitress... 10 minutes later a bottle of water and menus were slapped down... and we waited ...and waited ...and waited. The waitress was running around and although there were at least 4 staff only 1 appeared to be doing anything . She had a face like thunder and clearly avoided all eye contact. After 45 minutes we left , having not placed an order. My husband went to leave 5 euro for the water (we didn't fancy getting chased up the road) he spoke to the 2 waiters and they couldn't...
Read moreWe visited this place on Thursday 29/may/2025; this restaurant is NOT recommended...if you want to it real Greek food; if you are for quite a pleasant spot in Pireu's business district, then that should be ok. However, we have to say that, whereas almost everywhere in the beautiful country you are served a decent tasty meal, here it is the contrary; no taste, no natural produce, no decency in the dishes. I still do not understand the reviews, which, IMMO, come from basically tourists or passers-by, not real Greeks. None of the dishes we tried made any sense: industrial fried cheese, mash beans with capers without much taste (only 3 capers added, in a country where capers are abundant!), and a chicken Asian style that was meaningless. To make it worse, we asked of some extra olive oil, and were given back a micro...
